Vilnius and Trakai Full Day Medieval Tour

I will show you Vilnius medieval old town which is protected by UNESCO. You will learn about the medieval history of this old city visiting the upper and the lower castles, other defensive structures, fragments of the former city walls the gates of the Dawn and several blocks in the old town that kept their medieval street plan during the ages. Continuing the medieval tour I will show you two medieval castles in Trakai (the old capital of Lithuania). This is an interesting historical and arhitectural sightseeing + very enjoyable escape from the city to the beautiful countryside with dozens of lakes.

I will pick you up at your hotel. We will explore the Vilnius medieval old town. I will show you the upper and the lower castles, fragments of the former city walls, the gates of the Dawn, Gothic style churches and several blocks that kept their medieval street plan. I will drive you to some places from where you will have an amazing panoramic view of the old town. Continuing the medieval tour we will visit two medieval castles in the Trakai, the old capital of Lithuania. Especially picturesque is the castle located on the island of the lake Galve. This will be an interesting historical and architectural sightseeing reminding of the glorious past of Lithuania. You will also enjoy beautiful countryside with dozens of lakes. If you like I can bring you during the tour to some places where you can experience the taste of two different cuisines: Lithuanian and Karaim (national local minority).
