Nice to meet you! My name is Ugne, and in Lithuanian it literally means fire. I have a degree in Linguistics and really like languages. I'd like to teach you a few words in Lithuanian - the mother of European tongues! One of my hobbies is exploring my beautiful city Vilnius. I'm interested in history and architecture, and I know not only the highlights but a lot of hidden gems as well! I also know how important it is to eat delicious local food while visiting new lands. Don't worry, I'll have you covered - I'm a foodie myself. I'm 30 years old. I've got an official state guide license certifying my knowledge of Lithuania and I've been doing guided tours for over 6 years. I'm also an experienced driver and can take you places in my comfortable, airconditioned Volvo. I'm actually really excited to meet you so let me know if you're thinking of visiting Lithuania and we will arrange the best trip ever. Fluent English (University degree and years of teaching this language) Official Lithuanian guide license Experience doing guided tours 6+ years Driver's license None

Immerse yourself in the relaxed atmosphere surrounded by lakes, castles, old wooden architecture. The old capital of Lithuania may look like a small town today, but it would be hard to find another place so full of history and culture. The beautiful medieval castle in the middle of the lake is just one of many attractions (and one of two castles). The town has been incredibly multicultural and to this day we can find 3 different religions & related holy buildings. Did you know that Trakai houses the second biggest community of Caraite people? There are just about 60 of them , but their culture, language, architecture & food survives here. It's a very rare opportunity to see their 'church' called a Kenesa and to try their cuisine. We also visit a picturesque Romanticism era mansion on the other side of the lake, which is only accessible by car. Optional - Angel Hill: community initiative, a holy place with traditional Lithuanian wooden crosses.
- We depart from Vilnius and in about 30minutes arrive in Trakai. - We are going to leave the car then and start walking on foot through the old streets, visiting an Orthodox, a Catholic church and a Kenesa, as well as seeing old wooden buildings and a castle on the way. - When we come to the Lake Castle, we have the option to go inside to its museum (you'll need about 1 hour to explore it) or just walk around it and see the architecture. - Then we will sit down for a traditional Caraite pastry to give us energy to continue our trip and head to the beautiful Romanticism era mansion. - After exploring the surroundings, we have the option to visit the Angel Hill or start the return trip already.
