Nice to meet you! My name is Ugne, and in Lithuanian it literally means fire. I have a degree in Linguistics and really like languages. I'd like to teach you a few words in Lithuanian - the mother of European tongues! One of my hobbies is exploring my beautiful city Vilnius. I'm interested in history and architecture, and I know not only the highlights but a lot of hidden gems as well! I also know how important it is to eat delicious local food while visiting new lands. Don't worry, I'll have you covered - I'm a foodie myself. I'm 30 years old. I've got an official state guide license certifying my knowledge of Lithuania and I've been doing guided tours for over 6 years. On this tour, we will take a look at 3 different and unbelievably contrasting areas of Vilnius City. - Firstly on our way will be the soviet city centre, where we shall see the typical concrete architecture and listen to funny and sad memories of the time. - Then we will come to the modern city centre, compare the communist and capitalist Vilnius. - After that, we will eventually reach the biggest contrast of the tour - the wooden city centre. It will transport us back in time when there was no asphalt and running water and even electricity. Prepare to be surprised and take a lot of pictures - otherwise nobody at home will believe what you saw! Please note this tour can be customised.
