Professional local tour guide is greeting you from Lithuania. Guiding in Vilnius is my never-ending passion. Born and brought up in Vilnius I feel I hear its heartbeat and know all its secrets; but every time walking along its winding cobblestone streets you find something new, still unseen. If not a treasure it may appear a very precious discovery for you! who knows! Just keep being curious looking all around yourself exploring this world! And you'll never stop enjoying your life! I'll be glad, my dearest traveller, to share my knowledge with you and to show you my city and my country helping spot its peculiarities and contrasts and explore its unique life. I've been a licensed tour guide since 2006 and I find my job very rewarding for it gives me the opportunity to meet people from different continents, exchange our views and experience, discuss controversial topics, understand differences and similarities between the countries. I am also open to design exceptional tours according to your interests, happy to see my native place through a new lens! So, let's enjoy Vilnius together! As well as Trakai, Kaunas, Klaipeda, Nida and other Lithuania' s places. See you in Lithuania! -Guide license № 006202 issued by Lithuanian State Department of Tourism in 2006; -Master's degree in Vilnius University (Linguistics, Literary and Cultural studies); -Bachelor's degree in English Philology; -Tour guide qualification courses at Vilnius Tourism center; -Guide accreditation at Trakai Castle Historical Museum I am not a driver. A 4-hour walking and driving customized tour of Vilnius Many famous Judaism scholars and rabbis lived and worked in Vilnius; that is why over the 700 years of their presence in Lithuania Jews created a rich and diverse culture. Vilnius was called the Jerusalem of the North. It was the birthplace of such world renowned figures as the legendary Gaon of Vilna, the writer Romain Gary and one of the greatest violinist Jascha Heifetz . The Nazi occupation of the city between 1941 and 1944 ensured that Jewish life and culture in today's Vilnius is little more than a shadow of its former self, although a small Jewish community remains very much active in the city. More and more Litvaks living outside Lithuania are rediscovering their roots, and there remain plenty of things to see for those interested in finding out more about the city's rich and diverse Jewish history.
For your first visit to Vilnius you probably want to see the main attractions: The Gate of Dawn, The Town Hall Square, Vilnius University , Presidential Palace, St. Anne's and Bernandine churches, Uzupis Republic, St. Peter and Paul church, Pilies Street, Cathedral and Gediminas Tower . Alongside the main sights of Vilnius I offer to see Vilnius Choral Synagogue, Big and Small Ghettos Additionally it's possible to visit Vilna Gaon Jewish State Museum, The Green House, Paneriai Memorial Museum Anyway, the itinerary entirely depends on what your family wants to see; the day is customized to your interests and wishes. Send me a message outlining your family's interests and any MUST SEES on their list and I will devise an itinerary for you.
