Hello! My name is Clara and I'm a tour guide, officially licensed by the Regione Sicilia. After earning my University degree in Art History, and spending a few years in Rome and Barcelona working within the field of Contemporary Art, I returned to Palermo where I was born and raised. For the last two years I have worked as a Freelance Tour Guide and in the process discovered a magical mix: a use of my talents, knowledge of art history, architecture and Italian culture, a love for Sicily and Sicilian culture, and a desire to share amazing experiences with outsiders. I chose a career that gratifies me and strengthens my love for my homeland every day! Like many of my clients, I am also an insatiable traveler, so I find it easy to step into the shoes of someone visiting Sicily for the first time (or even the second or third!) I always offer my clients an opportunity to see Sicily through my eyes and live my passions with me. I love art, architecture, history and good food (and we have TONS of good food in Sicily!!). Sharing these passions every day in my work makes me so grateful and satisfied! When you contact me, you will also have the opportunity to customize your stay according to your interests. This will give you the opportunity to visit local attractions off the beaten path of guidebooks and tailored specifically to you. I look forward to hearing from you and helping you experience all that Palermo and Sicily have to offer! Segesta is a true archaeological marvel of Sicily that is not to be missed if your itinerary will allow for it. The sight of the dominant and pristine Greek temple rising up from the surrounding green hills is one that will stick with you long after your Sicilian voyage is over. This tour allows you to visit the archaeological park of Segesta (Admission fee: not included).
The Archeological Park of Segesta. We will see the magnificent Doric Temple, built before 430 BC by the occupying Greeks of the time, is the focal point of the park. There is also an accompanying amphitheatre that is not large by monumental standards but still impressive, and it offers a high vantage point from which to view the beautiful surrounding valleys. The setting is perfect for contemplation; one can vividly imagine the festivals, dramas and comedies that played out on this stage so many millennia ago. And if you want I am happy to customize the tour for you. Please inquire for a quote.
