Overview of your Palermo tour
Fantastic day tour to visit Monreale and its magnificent Cathedral, famous for its 24-karat gold mosaics and artistic ceramics. In Palermo, only with me you will be able to see the best of the historic center. With my car we will reach the narrow streets of the city center, we will see the historic market of Ballarò and we will have a good overview of the most important monuments of the old city. Since 2008 I have been organizing these tours by car, explaining the most important aspects of our culture and traditions. Mondello will be our final destination. We will have a seafood lunch in a seaside restaurant and finish with a walk near the fine sandy beach.

Great experience with Bartolomeo("Bart")! In our 7 hours with him, we covered more sites than we have with any other TBL in a similar time period. He got us very efficiently from one site to another by maneuvering his Mercedes van with "surgical precision" in the narrow streets of Palermo delivering you to the door step of all the sites. Bartolomeo is also an very knowledgeable "foodie" regarding Sicilian food. We had a wonderful sampling of different Sicilian food during our tour with him. If you are on a cruise, do a tour with Bartolomeo and don't do a ship excursion....you will be glad you did!

Tour just as described and we were able to customize a bit along the way. Friendly and knowledgeable guide, willing to stay with us when necessary for safety reasons. Recommended great places to eat - the best pastries in all of Europe are in Monreal - ask about them. Beautiful sites and great photo ops. You can't go wrong with this tour.

- We'll drive to Monreale town about 20 minutes away from Palermo. - We'll drive back to Palermo down-town to the Medieval area to see the main examples of Arab, Norman and Baroque architecture and across historical markets. - Then we will drive directly to Mondello, a tourist resort of Palermo famous for its numerous Art Nouveau villas, known as the best expression of Art Nouveau in Italy. - Here we can have lunch at a typical seafood restaurant. - Drive back to meeting place.
