Monreale Cathedral is a Norman-Byzantine masterpiece, renowned for its over 6,000 square meters of gold-ground mosaics narrating sacred history, culminating in the majestic Christ Pantocrator in the central apse, flanked by William II crowned by Christ and the Virgin. Cefalù Cathedral is a Romanesque-Norman masterpiece (12th-13th century), blending Latin, Greek, and Arabic elements. It is dominated by two imposing lateral towers and a large churchyard. The interior, with a basilica plan and a Latin cross plan, has three naves and is famous for its magnificent Byzantine mosaics (particularly the Christ Pantocrator).
