I will accompany you to the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento, an enchanting place, where time seems to have stopped. This is an experience that must absolutely be done, at least once in a lifetime, to relive the experience of the great cultural history of Sicily. Testimony of the Doric temples in the Hellenic era, perfectly preserved placed in the valley of what was once the famous "Akragas", (old name of Agrigento). Known for the almond groves and for the great end of winter festival "Il Mandorlo in fiore", (from March 7th to 19th) I'm a local and I have been doing this tour for several years. I can share with you very interesting stories and facts of the area. I'll show you and make you try the most important dishes of the local tradition, especially almond pastries.
Bartolomeo was excellent. He was polite, very professional at all times, always punctual and pleasant to spend the day with. I went to Sicily to visit my father’s home town and Bartolomeo did an excellent job interpreting for me with the locals who work at the municipal offices. Had a memorable day trip from Palermo to the Greek Temples of Agrigento with Bartolomeo. The drive to/from Palermo was quite beautiful. Bartolomeo speaks excellent English which makes arranging dropoff and pickup from the various sites quite easy. I strongly recommend him for this great day trip which was the highlight of my trip to Sicily.
Bartolimeo is a excellent professional guide. He was very responsive and easy to communicate with while making our arrangements. He was also very kind to accommodate a special diversion of our tour to visit our family hometown of Castletermini. The Mercedes van was very comfortable. We would recommend booking with Bartolimeo again.
We enjoyed a full day trip from Palermo through the Valley of the Temples, Agrigento and it's Cathedral, followed by a beautiful seaside lunch in San Leone. Bartolomeo assisted with arrangements for a private licensed guide in the Valley and found the perfect location for our lunch. He is punctual, courteous, kind and speaks good English. We are happy to recommend him as your local guide!
Bartolomeo was an excellent guide. He was on time for pick up, was an excellent driver, adapted to our group's extra requests, recommended an extremely knowledgable guide for our tour of the temples and took us to one of the best restaurants have eaten at during our trip in Spain, France, and Italy. Bartolomeo was a great driver! We encountered dangerous driving circumstances (heavy rain and mud) and Bartolomeo was very safe. He arranged a guide for us in Agrigento and a lovely farmhouse lunch experience that was fantastic He was very patient and kind with the transport of my elderly father.
- We will leave at the scheduled time from Palermo, from your hotel or from the port, in the direction of Agrigento. - During the trip there will be possible stops in beautiful and panoramic places, to take the best photos. - After 2 hours and 15 minutes (depends on traffic) we will arrive at the Valley of the Temples. - Walking tour in to the Archaeological Park, with local tour guide (only upon previous request). - At the end of the monumental visit, we could go to the famous resort of San Leone, for a lunch near the sea and finally take a walk on the long beach. - 2,30 pm drive back to Palermo Note: I can customize up to 8 people.
