With this full-day private guided tour you will experience the real Corleone. Not just the city whose name is related to don Vito, the main character of Coppola's masterpiece, but the reality of a city which, for decades until the 1990s, was the headquarters of the Mafia. You will hear from me, as I have experienced it personally being Sicilian, what happened. As an economist, I will tell you the history of the Mafia from its origins and its connections with Medieval times. Please note that this tour is not related to the Godfather movies, as they were not filmed in Corleone. If you'd like to experience a proper Godfather Tour to visit the locations they filmed at, send me a message. The first stop is the Royal Hunting Lodge near Corleone, a splendid Royal Palace Being the Palace located inside the Ficuzza Woods. In Corleone we will have a drink and delicious cookies before visiting the town, then lunch at one of the local restaurants.
We had an excellent tour with Giorgio! We learned so much about the history of Italy and the role the Mafia played. He picked a great pit stop to try some cannoli, and a fantastic restaurant for lunch to savor the local cuisine. Lots of good humor made for a fun day. Highly recommend!
We were in Palermo for the day off a cruise ship. Excellent tour with the very knowledgable Giorgio just wish we had longer to explore more of Sicily. Would highly recommend Giorgio as a guide.
