The Ancient Herculaneum walking tour

Lesser-known than Pompeii, Herculaneum is the second most important Roman town and still preserves the charm of ancient times. Destroyed during the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in A. D. 79 the town of Herculaneum was the summer retreat of Roman Patricians that built and decorated their huge Villas with frescoes and mosaics that you can still see on the spot.
