Pompeii, Herculaneum, Vesuvius - Private Tour from Naples

Gabby was a wonderful guide who was very understanding of the needs of our family. She was able to pivot when my daughter experienced carsickness; we had a wonderful detour to her seaside hometown. We were able to experience a small part of coastal Italy without the pressures of others or the guide/driver. Gabby was friendly and gentle with our sensitive kids. She was also so wonderful to converse with. Our driver, Mario, was also great. Clean car, friendly, and safe. 100% would hire Gabby again.

A wonderful, highly customized tour with a great team Gabriella, Luca, and Rafaela were fantastic to work with. Communication was strong (and easy to understand for native US English speakers) from start to finish, and they were all incredibly knowledgeable. The day started smoothly with a convenient hotel pickup right in Naples. I really appreciate that we could take this customized tour even though we only booked a couple of days in advance! Gabriella was a fantastic guide and coordinated the tour. During our drives, she kept us informed and entertained. We loved that she included all of the tickets and entry fees in the tour cost, having them ready when we arrived. Her itinerary planning made the tours much more enjoyable since she scheduled Herculaneum first, which meant Pompeii was much less crowded by the time we arrived (we could see hundreds of people leaving the park while we walked in). She also adjusted the trip to accommodate a recent toe injury, replacing the Vesuvius hike with a drive up the volcano as far as cars are allowed. Luca was a great driver, and the minivan was very comfortable and spacious. We really appreciated the bottles of water on a warm day. Beyond his excellent driving, he even shared his tips for cooking pasta, patate, e cozze, which I look forward to trying at home. Rafaela brought an archaeologist's depth of knowledge and a natural gift for storytelling to the ancient sites. Instead of a dry history lesson,. Instead of a dry lecture on "dead history," she turned our visit into a living, breathing journey through time We chose to see less of Pompeii in order to fit in both Herculaneum and Vesuvius, which turned out to be the right decision for us. While we would have liked to have seen the Amphitheatre, we really enjoyed seeing the two smaller theaters in Pompeii plus the other sites. Gabriella and Rafaella did a great job explaining how the historic events and preservation differed between the locations. I highly recommend booking with Gabriella, Luca, and Rafaela if you want a comfortable, informative, and well-paced tour of these historic sites. Note that even with the shortened hike of Vesuvius, be ready for a good amount of walking.

Amazing, Astonishing, Incredible, these words are not enough. Gabriella and Luca were the most amazing hosts my wife and I have ever had anywhere in the world. Their care, demeanor, knowledge and true love for what they do shines through. From the first interaction on the Web Site to our first in person meeting, Gabriella was the truest professional. As soon as we entered their spacious van for the tour, Gabriella started with her love and knowledge of Italy, of the Naples area and our destinations of Herculaneum, Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius. Gabriella had arranged for an Archeologist to lead the tour in Herculaneum and Pompeii and Rafaella did not disappoint. Rafaella's insight and knowledge of these sites was amazing and detailed. I was unaware of the vast differences between the 2 sites, despite watching every history show I could watch before we left for Italy. Rafaella's love of history was some much more then just a job, seemed more like a calling. After our 2 stops at Herculaneum and Pompeii, we sadly said good bye to Rafaella and then were onto our climb up Mount Vesuvius. Gabriella and Luca described the history of Vesuvius and prepared us for what we were about to experience. The climb was a little hard but the views and experience were well worth the effort. ON the way back, after a long day, the history and tour continued with additional knowledge of the area until the time care for us to say good buy to Gabriella and Luca. Next time, we are back in Naples, we will be getting together with Gabriella, Luca and Rafaella as well.

If it were possible I would give Gabriella and her staff a hundred times five stars. Gino, our guide was so knowledgeable and was truly passionate about conveying his tremendous knowledge…we learned so much and enjoyed the manner in which he shared it. Sal, our driver was likewise fantastic…so accommodating. We lost my wife’s portable wheelchair in the Rome airport. After finding a location where I could buy a new one….after our full day tour he insisted on taking me to the location and he came inside to interpret for me ….without him I would never been able to make the purchase. We go from here on a two week cruise, where we must have one…and thank goodness I had him to get it done. Again she and her crew went above and beyond to provide such personal care. THANK YOU!
