Welcome! My name is Roberto. I am an Archaeologist and an official Tour Guide of Italy I obtained bachelor degree in Cultural Heritage, master degree in Classical Archaeology and the diploma of Post-Graduate School in Archeological Heritage. I have been an licensed guide of Campania Region (Italy) since 2011 and I have also worked as an archaeologist all around the Mediterranean sea: Populonia (Livorno, Italy), Paestum (Salerno, Italy), Olbia de Provance (Hyères, Var -France), Efestia (Lemnos, Greece), Phaistos, (Crete, Greece). Since I was a child I loved history of ancient Greeks and Romans and also the Art history from the Middle Ages to the Avanguardie of the '900. I live in Salerno, a characteristic sea town located between the paradise of Amalfi Coast and the charming Cilento. Thanks to my job and passion I working and travelling all over the World discovering different people, cultures and stories. I'm going to offer my knowledge in the art-historical and archaeological field for anyone who wants to understand and investigate the incredible richness of my country. Together we will discover the secrets of ancient Greeks and Romans that already in the past they knew the incomparable beauty of those places. With me you will know also other ancient civilizations and royal families, like Lombards, Normans, Anjous, Aragons and Bourbons, that ruled and enriched the Region with Monuments of incredible beauty and historic value. I'm a member of Slow Food (an international movement that strives to preserve traditional and regional cuisine and encourages farming of plants, seeds and livestock characteristic of the local ecosystem) and so I organize specific tours to those who want to discover the authentic pleasures of wine and traditional food. I also do online pre-trip consultations to help traveller to get their best from their vacations. Availability, preparation and organization are my greatest battle horses to transmit the love that I feel for my country and its history. As your personal archaeologist and art historian tour guide I will tell you all the details of this beautiful town. You will discover the tracks of civilizations as Byzantins, Normans, Anjous, Aragons and also royal families as Bourbons and Savoys. Also as a member of Slow Food movement I will give you the best tips about where to eat and what to taste as a real local. Your Naples tour itinerary
In this walking tour we will see the monumental area and the historical center of Naples. We will start to see the facade of the "Castel Nuovo", one of the 5 castles in Naples, built in Anjou period. We will move to "Piazza del Plebiscito" to admire the facade of the Royal Palace, restored in the Bourbons time by the architect Vanvitelli. Not far from the Royal Palace I'll show you a great view of the Bay of Naples, with islands, volcano and castle! After that we'll walk through the Umberto Gallery from Savoy time built in iron and glass in neoclassical style. In the historical center we will admire the different architectonic styles of churches and building from X to XVII centuries. If we have time we can visit the Cappella San Severo that conserve an outstanding statue in marble of the "Veiled Christ" or the characteristic street San Gregorio Armeno, where craftsmen produce terracotta shepards for the famous neapolitan nativity scenes. *** This TOUR CAN BE CUSTOMIZED 100% ***
