Hi! Welcome to everybody! I'm Fausta and I have been working as a professional tourist guide in Milan since 1997. I'm also official tourist guide of Lake Como, the medioeval town of Bergamo, the longobard town of Monza, and I'm tour leader as well. According to the new law n. 190 dated 13th December 2023, as national tourist guide I can offer you also guided tours in other towns like Pavia , Cremona, Genoa and Savona (Liguria). Regarding Milan . . . . I'm a real "local" , since I was born in Milan in 1970 and I've seen my hometown growing up, developing and becoming a real European Capital in the last years. Now, I can see my 3 children (the oldest one is 22 years old) getting the most of it and I can see how many opportunities Milan is giving them as well. I love my job! I love meeting people coming from different countries, showing them my city and getting to know about their places. I want my guests to discover Italy as travellers, not as tourists. That's why I'm trying to comunicate all my love and knowledges "as local" to visitors. I'm very proud of my birthcountry and its Dolce Vita style! Milan is the most international and open-minded city of Italy. It's the capital of Italian fashion, interior design, opera (i. e. the Scala operahouse and Casa Verdi where the composer Giuseppe Verdi is buried) and - by the way - also of alcoholic drinks (did you know that the first factory Campari was located at the boundaries of Milan and still nowadays -downtown - we have the historical cafè Camparino?). Milan was the capital of the West Roman Empire, a renaissance town in XV Cent. (that's why Leonardo da Vinci lived in Milan 20 years!) , an industrial town at the began of the XX Cent. (ie Pirelli factory), but now Milan has become a contemporary town, for which "archistars" like Zaha Hadid, Daniel Liebeskind , Cesar Pelli, Boeri designed a new skyline or new projects like the Bosco Verticale (Vertical Wood). I've seen and do see these changes every single day! What about Genoa and Savona ? As most of "milaneses" I have been spending my summer holidays since childhood in Liguria, and I am still doing it ! So please don't hesitate to get in contact with me even if you don't see my avaiability on the web-site, I might be in Spotorno and reach you in less than 1 hour to show you both the wonderful historical maritime republics! I studied and I am still studying hard to get my several qualifications. I keep on following refresher courses to be able to communicate to everybody the real soul of the northern part of Italy, because I do think that tourism is a right for everybody, no matter what kind of special needs you may deserve or which sense is the best for you to get to know the world. Regarding special needs or multisensorial tours, do not hesitate to let me know. I'll prepare the best tailor-made tour according to your needs! Hoping to see you soon . . . . Ciao! - Licensed tourist guide of Milan (since 1995), Monza (since 1995), Bergamo (since 1997), Como (since 2015) - Licensed tour guide/tour leader (since 1997) - Licensed professional guide in English, German, Spanish, French, Italian. - National Tourist Guide since 13th december 2023 according to the law n. 190. - Course for Heritage Interpretation (March 2017). - Course for guiding mental and physical disabled guests (February 2016). - Course for guiding blind and partially sighted guests ( December 2020 - January 2021). - Course "Switch on tourism " for accessible tourism - tourism for all (March - May 2021). - Graduation in modern foreign languages and literature (1993). I am not a driver. I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

Overview of your Milan tour

Six hundred years were needed to build up the Duomo. As a local (I was born in Milan!) I will let you have the best of it, visiting the inside of the Duomo and discovering its beautiful stained-glass-windows, visiting the old baptistery chapel underground (dating back to V Cent. a. C. ) and going up to the roof to enjoy Milan from above and to meet the 2. 000 statues located at the top of the Cathedral. Then, by a historical tram, we'll end up in the canal district (kind of little Venice) where it will be possible to see the Canal "Grande", through which the marble used to build up the Duomo was transported since 1386. It will be up to you, whether to stay in the district (filled up with restaurants and cafè) for lunch/dinner or an ice-cream/ aperitif. It's hard not to be overwhelmed by its charm!

Your Milan tour itinerary

- Visit of Duomo: inside - Visit of the Baptistery chapel: inside - Roof of the Duomo by elevator (to reach the terraces there are all the same 77 steps) - Short Tram ride to canals area - Walking Tour in the canals district (Navigli) **Please note that to go inside the Duomo (and on the roof as well) there are security controls: soldiers with a metal detector (no knives, no nail- scissors, no cans, no glass, no torches. . . it's like at the airport!). A reservation is needed to visit the Duomo and a pre-payment . I'll provide you a link to do that. The tickets are not refundable. Depending on special church services, the Duomo - or some parts of it - could be closed to visitors; depending on the weather conditions (i. e. snow) the terraces may be closed or partially closed. Even in summertime, guests must be dressed properly (shoulders covered, no shorts or mini-skirts, the length is up to knees).
