Today you will take the 2-hour drive north from Dublin to visit Belfast City. You will stop along the way to visit the ancient monastic site of Monasterboice to see the medieval Celtic High Crosses and the Round Tower there. Belfast is the second largest city in Ireland and is undergoing an impressive rebirth after the tumultuous times of the 30+ years conflict known as "The Troubles". It is now a modern, vibrant and thriving city. On your tour you would visit the famous murals which illustrate the culture and history of the Nationalist and Unionist traditions that coexist within the North of Ireland. Learn about how they have evolved since the "Troubles" and now illustrate the progress that has been made since the war ended after the Good Friday Agreement. You will also get to visit the "Peace Wall" that divides the two communities. Then it is off to visit the Titanic Quarter and the world-class Titanic Exhibition, driving through the city centre of Belfast as you do so. .
