I will collect you from your accommodation. From there we will travel to the magnificent Rock of Cashel. The Rock of Cashel is a must see if Visiting Ireland offering stunning Medieval Architecture and one of the finest collections of Celtic Art in the world. We will also visit Hore Abbey whis was a beautiful Cistercian Monastery which is great fun to explore. I also love the uninterrupted views to the Rock of Cashel. Our next stop will be Cahir Castle which is the largest Anglo Norman Castle's in Ireland. Also the location for many amazing Films such as excalibur and the award winning TV PROGRAMME The Tudors. Our final stop will be Blarney Castle where you can explore the beautiful Castle, Kiss the Blarney Stone and explore the beautiful Gardens. , This is a very enjoyable tour with a great mix of history and scenery and fun for all ages.
Derek was fantastic!!! We actually did two tours with Derek on our trip to Ireland and my family loved them both! We actually wish we had planned another with Derek while we were there. He was very knowledgeable of Irish history, and you can tell that he loves and takes pride in his beautiful country. He was very flexible, and even modified this tour to allow us to enjoy a whiskey tasting at the Middleton Distillery. Thank you for the wonderful tour!
We had a fantastic day with Derek! He picked us up on time at our hotel and we headed out to Rock of Cashel, Blarney Castle and then on to Cork. He was very knowledgeable and had some interesting and funny stories about the area. His van is very comfortable and he is an excellent driver. We had an amazing lunch near the castle and an overall wonderful experience. We felt like old friends by the end of the day. We highly recommend him!
Derek was a great tour guide! .. He was very cordial and knowledgeable about the history of the places we visited. He took us to beautiful places of historical significance. Our tour consisted of visits to the Rock of Cashel, Hoar Abbey, Blarney castle and Cobh. There were 8 adults on this tour and we fit very comfortably in the mini van provided. When we visit Ireland again we will happily engage Derek to be our tour guide!
I will collect you from your accommodation and from there the sites we will visit on the day are. Set on a dramatic outcrop of limestone in the Golden Vale, the Rock of Cashel, iconic in its historic significance, possesses the most impressive cluster of medieval buildings in Ireland. Among the monuments to be found there is a round tower, a high cross, a Romanesque chapel, a Gothic cathedral, an abbey, the Hall of the Vicars Choral and a fifteenth-century Tower House. In 1101 the site was granted to the church and Cashel swiftly rose to prominence as one of the most significant centers of ecclesiastical power in the country. We will spend approximately 1 hour at The Rock of Cashel. Blarney Castle and Gardens. Built nearly six hundred years ago by one of Ireland's greatest chieftans, Cormac Mccarthy. You can also kiss the Blarney Stone and explore the beautiful Gardens. Our final stop will be either a visit to the Titanic experience in Cobh or Middelton whiskey experience.
