Mangalore, Moodbidri, Karkala temples - full day tour

Take this tour to see the famous and historical temples in Mangalore, Moodbidri & Karkala and be amazed by them! You will see both Hindu architecture and Jain architecture. In most of the Hindu temples there are wood carving works. In the Jain temples, you can see stone carvings and constructions built of stones. Let me tell you more about it on tour! See Gomateshwara statue, Karkala - a monolithic statue of Jain King Bahubali, 42' height built in 1432. Go through Carstreet - the main street where most of the temple processions take place. We can see small shrines and temples on both sides. Visit the 1000 pillars Jain temple, Moodbidri - a marvellous stone temple resembling Jainism. As the name says, there are 1000 pillars of different sizes. See Kadri Manjunatha temple - one of the oldest Lord Shiva Temple. The bronze idol of Lord Lokeshwar (Brahma) is the oldest of the South Indian temples. Discover Kudroli Shri Gokarnatheshwara old temple - renovated in 2012. The main sanctum remains the same.

- We will drive (about 2 hours) to Gomateshwara Statue Karkala - we spend 1 hour here. - Carstreet , Karkala - about 1 hour. - Lunch break- about 1 hour. - 30 min drive to the 1000 pillars Jain temple Moodbidri - about 1. 5 hour. - 1 hour drive to the Kadri Manjunatha temple, dated 1068 AD, famous for its 9 ponds - about 1 hour to spend here. - Kudroli Shri Gokarnatheshwara temple visit, built in South Indian style - about 1 hour. The tour is flexible but If we start this tour early and take the time to see each place as I indicated, we can visit some more places on the way back.
