Berlin is a city full of life and rich in history. From it's vibrant restaurants, bars, and clubs, to the profound historical events of the 20th century, Berlin has something for everyone. I’d love to take you through the key moments and events that shaped our modern world. Along the way, I’ll share captivating stories, funny anecdotes, and interesting facts, while recommending the best spots for leisure and showing you around one of the largest and most vibrant cities in the EU today. A bit about me: I’m a PhD student researching society and the internet. Originally from Israel, I fell in love with Berlin and decided to stay, learning about its history and exploring the fascinating stories that make this city unique. After the Nazi demise and the destruction of Berlin, the people of Berlin witnessed American, British, French and Russian soldiers entering their city and staying in Berlin more than 40 years. As a consequence of the loss of the second World War, Germany, and Berlin in particular, became a central location of an ideological clash between America and Russsia - The Cold War. Berlin became a hub of spies and military activity and gave to the world the symbol of the cold war - the Berlin Wall. After years of tension, on the 9th of November the people of Berlin Knocked the wall with their own hammers and Peggs and apprise the end of communism and totalitarianism in East Europe. 10 months later Germany was united again. During the tour I will share anecdotes, main figures stories and the general atmosphere back than in Berlin.
- Checkpoint Charlie - The main Passage of citizens - Bernauer Street and the escape tunnels - Nordbahnhof sealed station - The wall Memorial and the reconstruction of the Death Strip - Chapel of Reconciliation - The Memorial church for the victims of the wall - Brandenburg gate - Palace of Tears - the main Passage of citizens - Friedrichstr station - 17 of June square - Asisi Panorama of the Wall I am more than willing to customize this tour according to your preferences, please contact me.
