Little America in Berlin - Express Tour

Once a good friend told me that she had lived in Berlin as a child. Her father was a US Army surgeon. The only things she could remember was living near a lake, taking a bus to school, and walking to a movie theater. Eventually I located her former house and sent a picture to her… Come with me in the southwestern part of Berlin and discover one of the most typical American residential area, which is today a designated historical site. Located nearby were official buildings such as the US-Headquarters Command, US Mission Berlin, as well as areas of daily life such as the Officer's Club and Truman Plaza. Following the trail of Little America, an enclave of the American way of life, we will discover how from 1945 to 1994 the US had in many ways influenced the history and atmosphere of West Berlin. An example is the contribution of the US to the foundation of the prestigious Free University. The visit will end at the Allied Museum which is a former movie theatre for American families.
