Wilkommen in Berlin, Welcome to Berlin ! Thank you for choosing us. Hallo, Hello, Bonjour, I am...
Itinerary not perfect? Message Anne H. to build a tour that's just right for you.
It seems that you don't have accounts which you could contact the guide from...
"Ich bin ein Berliner" said the American President John Kennedy in June 1963 in Berlin. You don't need to be born in Berlin to feel that way and to be impressed by the twisted fate of this city. If you want to see and feel the Cold War and what was at stake at that time follow me in the streets of the German capital, which was the epicenter of it. As foreigners, we will discover the sufferings but also the little happiness of the Berliners from both sides. I will explain to you how quickly the former enemies thanks to candies and chocolate became the friends of a population who wanted only one thing, rebuild the country and look into the future. We will see together why it was called a "cold" war, as there was no so much action, but a constant tension between the four powers. I will make you feel in the Bernauer Strasse how it was to live behind the Wall and how much risk the East Berliner were willing to take to go to the West. The Wall not only divided a city, but also families, friends, and lovers.
- We'll start our tour by a look at the Tempelhof Airport (outside only) where the Airlift of 1948 happened. - Then we'll take the direction of the city center of Berlin, seeing the famous Check Point Charlie, the Palace of the Tears. We will go to Bernauerstrasse to see a piece of the Wall that is still standing today. - Later on, we will go to the Reichstag, the Brandenburg Gate, and the Alexanderplatz, 3 important places in 1989 when the Wall fell down. The tour includes these landmarks: - Tempelhof Airport (outside) - Check Point Charlie - Brandenburg Gate - Reichstag (outside) - Tränenpalast - Alexander Platz - Bernauer Strasse the Wall Memorial I am more than willing to customize this tour according to your preferences, please contact me for a customized tour

This tour is mostly a walking tour, but we will also use the public transportation, as subway and street trolleys. *If you would prefer to do the tour by car, I could arrange for you a car/minivan with a driver. That must be of course arranged in advance.
