Musée d'Orsay - The Story of Colours and Light - Private Tour

Excellent knowledgable guide with great background in art history. Showed us more in 2.5 hours than we could see alone while giving us a brief education on the most important aspects of the Musee D ‘Orsay. Highly recommend.

I wish we could give Mandy 10 stars, she was just that fantastic. We actually booked a combination tour with her, in which we did her Quintessential Paris tour in the morning and this Musee d'Orsay tour in the afternoon. The entire day was an amazing experience, from start to finish. Mandy was super knowledgeable and shared a lot of interesting and relevant information about each of the historical sites we visited. She even had a tablet with her to show us relevant maps, images, etc. to help contextualize the things we were seeing. The van was very comfortable (air conditioning was lovely given the crazy heat wave Europe was experiencing that week!), and Mandy was in constant communication with our driver to ensure that we could stop at each monument for a closer look and/or photos and easily get right back into the van to go to the next location. This was especially important to us because we had a 67 year old with limited mobility and a 6 year old with us. We very much appreciated her taking many family pictures of us all across Paris. Mandy also ensured that we had bathroom access at key moments throughout the day. We had lunch in between the morning tour and the afternoon museum tour, and Mandy made reservations for us at a truly delicious and lovely restaurant close to the museum after checking in about what kinds of foods we'd prefer to eat. Mandy was very kind and patient, super informative even beyond the tour itself, and made an extra effort to go above and beyond to engage our 6 year old in all that we did that day. She took a really cute picture of her posed as if holding the Eiffel Tower, included specific art pieces in the museum tour that she thought our daughter would really appreciate seeing, and interacted with her by asking her questions to keep her interested along the way. Mandy was clearly very familiar with the museum, was able to take us through the museum in an accessible path that allowed us to use the wheelchair, and highlighted key pieces and provided additional stories, context, and information that we might have otherwise missed. There is so much to see, that it was very helpful to have her guidance and perspective. We chose to stay a bit longer in the museum after our tour with Mandy ended, which was a nice opportunity. We would highly recommend Mandy for any tours you might be considering while in Paris, and we would definitely look her up again if we make it back!

Mandy gave a wonderful tour of the d’Orsay to my son and his family which included two children ages 15 and 12. She made the museum come alive for them. I used Mandy once before two years ago for an introductory driving tour of the city and knew that not only is she an excellent guide, but also that she is marvelous with the young ones. Mandy gave us a perfectly curated tour of the Orsay. She incorporated all of the artists we were interested in. My wife and I encourage strongly that you take a tour with Mandy. My wife walks with a cane and Mandy obtained a wheelchair for us and we were able to keep up and enjoy everything without a problem. Thank you Mandy

Mandy was a marvelous guide--we took four tours with her: Louvre, Musée D'Orsay, Versailles/Giverny, and the Irresistible Paris walking tour. Mandy's attentiveness to us and our interests; her deep knowledge of and affection for Paris and France and its history and culture; her efficiency at keeping our group happily moving; and her gift for narration, bringing the past vividly into the present day, were all deeply appreciated by our grateful and admiring extended family. Mandy enriched our experience of France memorably and she has our highest recommendation. We only hope we can return to tour and learn with her again very soon!

Mandy was an amazing tour guide, we learned so much during our visit and she did a great job catering to our group of six with ages from 9 to 80+. We would definitely recommend Mandy and use her again next time we are in Paris!
