From Pointe du Hoc to Arromanches, full day tour from Bayeux

This tour will show you some of the main sites where allied soldiers landed on D-Day as well as some of the German defense positions and the remains of the artifical harbor in Arromanches. We will get out on sites and on the beaches (if the tide allows) and you will hear what happened there in the early hours of June 6th. I will show you the remaining bunkers and gun positions and point out specific actions that took place on those sites. As often as I can I use maps and photos to help understand everything better. We will have as well the chance to pay our respects to some of the men and women who gave their lives for our freedom today in visiting the American cemetery. This is a very unique place, very peacefull, and overlooking Omaha, the beach where Americans had the highest casualties on D-Day. I usually prefer showing the real battle sites and the cemetery and don't spend much time in musuems. However if you wish to see a museum, it'll shorten the time spent at the other sites.
