Even though I have visited many times, I am always amazed by the colors of these areas. We will discover Bayeux and its thousand -year-old cathedral, the port of Arromanches-les-Bains with the famous DDAY museum and its history, the famous Omaha beach where American forces landed and fought on June 6th, American cemetery, where about 9000 battle of Normandy victims lay to rest, Pointe du Hoc with its marvelous point of view, where American rangers had to seize a German gun battery on top of cliffs. We will also stop at one of the numerous British cemeteries before heading back to Bayeux Also, this tour itinerary is customizable to fit your visit plans so please do not hesitate to contact me.
Jean is a spectacular guide. My husband and I had the most amazing experience in Normandy. Jean was very knowledgeable, had a big personality and was able to give us the exact tour that we were looking for because he was a great listener.
Jean was great! Like us, he's pretty laid back and, after we described to him what our interests were and what we wanted to see, he took us to several different sites that aligned with our requests. He was informative and provided details and background to many of the D-Day sites, Arromanche, Bayeux and other locations. He answered all the questions we had, which gave us a more thorough understanding of the French people and how the D-Day remembrance activities were very important to them. We can definitely recommend Jean!
Jean was tremendous. He arrived early everyday and his Mercedes was spotless and comfortable. He was quick with great suggestions of what to see or where to eat but also very accommodating to take us to places we suggested as well.
The itinerary will include; - A visit to the town center of Bayeux (1 hour). - A scenic drive through the countryside to Arromanches-les-Bains (gold beach sector) for 1 hour. - We will have lunch in one of the restaurants with a nice view on the English channel. - We will then follow the coastline (1 hour) through Port-en-Bessin. - We will reach the landing beaches, spending 2 hours there . - Finally finish at Pointe du Hoc (1 hour). On our way back, we will stop at La Flaguerie cider house for a tasting, you will have deserved it!
