Caen, Honfleur & Deauville - Full Day Tour from Bayeux

From the Vikings to the impressionism of Claude Monet to the hundred years war, the heritage of Normandy is full of treasures to discover. On this tour, we'll explore the capital city of William the Conqueror (first Norman King of England) on the 11th century. Caen is one of Normandy's main cities. The shining color of the city centre thanks to the local lime stone "la Pierre de Caen", create a warm atmosphere. Among the town's main highlights, despite what was endured in WWII's battle of Normandy, are the remains of the Castle of Caen and the "Abbaye aux hommes" where William I is buried. We'll also visit Honfleur, a charming port and little architectural gem on the river mouth of the Seine, also preserved from WWII's bombings, is known to be the cradle of impressionism in the middle of the 19th century. In addition to this, we'll see Deauville, a XIXth century a sea resort popular for its villas, its hippodrome, its shops & celebrity board walk on the beach. 3 different cities, 1 wonderful day!

• Our tour will start once I pick you up from either Bayeux or Caen. • Once in Caen, we'll begin a walking tour that includes the former Castle of William the Conqueror, which used to be the heart of the Normandy Duchy's. • We'll then proceed to "Abbaye aux Hommes", dedicated in 1070's and used as a civilian shelter during WW2 bombardment. • Next we'll head to Honfleur, where we'll walk trough the city center, discover the long history of the port (Trading, New world expedition, Leisure), and enjoying the fantastic colors of the houses around the pool. Today, Honfleur is very well known by art collectors with many art galleries. • Finally, we'll drive to Deauville to see one of the most fancy resorts in Normandy. Here, you'll have the opportunity to shop at leisure with many luxury boutiques at your reach. • At last, I'll drop you off back in Bayeux or Caen.
