We start bordering the Llanquihue Lake (third biggest lake in South America), crossing through beautiful countryside landscapes with a perfect view of the Osorno Volcano. After driving almost 1 hour to the Andes, we arrive to the Petrohue Falls. Here, we will walk inside the evergreen forest and appreciate the mixture of colors of the Petrohue River and its rapid falls. Then we continue to the perfect shaped Osorno Volcano, which is snowcapped all year round. Once at the ski center, you have some free time for a short hike or just enjoy a hot chocolate cup with a tasty piece of fruit pie, also called kuchen by the German settlers. By the end of the tour, we visit the city of Puerto Varas. In this place, we have the opportunity to have lunch and visit downtown, craft shops or just take a deep breath in front of one of the biggest and more beautiful lakes in Chile. I will tailor made the lunch following your preferences and suggest you yo try our local and fresh foods so you can connect with our culture.
What a wonderful tour. Claudio is exactly why we book through Tours by Locals. His knowledge of the area was extensive. From the local flora and fauna, to the best restaurants and shopping in the area, Claudio had it covered. Do not hesitate to book him if you find yourself in the area.
Claudio was an excellent tour guide. He picked us up and took us to the Petrohue falls where he spoke about the history of the area and what drives the trade and economy of the locals. We highly recommend to pick up honey and cheese here. Next, we went to the Osorno volcano. The roads can make you dizzy. I recommend taking nausea medicine. I took it and had no issues. We took the ski lift up and saw amazing views. The ground has a lot of mineral colors, it looks like another planet. Last, we visited Puerta Arenas, where we ate at a local restaurant Claudio recommended. If you enjoy seafood, this is an excellent choice. We highly recommend the seafood stew. After lunch, we walked around the town. It is a beautiful town where roses of all colors are everywhere. Great experience, would do it again!

Claudio's tour was the highlight of our stay in Puerto Montt. He was knowledgable, friendly and made every effort to stay ahead of the anticipated crowds. He completely personalized our private tour experience and the private boat on Lago de los Todos Santos was exceptional.His vehicle is new and clean, and he is an excellent driver.
