We start bordering the Llanquihue Lake (third biggest lake in South America), crossing through beautiful countryside landscapes with a perfect view of the Osorno Volcano. After driving almost 1 hour to the Andes, we arrive to the Petrohue Falls. Here, we will walk inside the evergreen forest and appreciate the mixture of colors of the Petrohue River and its rapid falls. Then we continue to the perfect shaped Osorno Volcano, which is snowcapped all year round. Once at the ski center, you have some free time for a short hike or just enjoy a hot chocolate cup with a tasty piece of fruit pie, also called kuchen by the German settlers. By the end of the tour, we visit the city of Puerto Varas. In this place, we have the opportunity to have lunch and visit downtown, craft shops or just take a deep breath in front of one of the biggest and more beautiful lakes in Chile. I will tailor made the lunch following your preferences and will suggest you yo try our local and fresh foods so you can connect with our culture.
We had an excellent day with Claudio! Unfortunately, there was an unexpected early winter storm the day we did the excursion, but Claudio did an excellent job of adjusting the itinerary due to the rain. He was a very safe driver in the downpouring rain and did a great job of getting us to sights between the large tour buses. His lunch recommendation in Puerto Vargas was wonderful. All told, a great day and would recommend this tour.
Our tour guide, Claudio was fantastic! Very friendly, knowledgeable, and very patient with us. He took us to Vincente Pérez Rosales National Park to see Petrohué rapids. Then he took us up Osorno volcano where we hiked a short trail to catch a fantastic view of the valley carved out by the glaciers. Next was Puerto Varas where he suggested a few spots for great food and some artisan shops. After detailed talks, he allowed us private time at each of the stops, so we didn't feel rushed and we could enjoy the views on our own. And the best part, we were able to stay ahead of the many tour buses from our cruise ship! No big crowds wherever we went. For us, this is the best type of tour. We had our own comfortable private van, and a tour guide who spoke excellent English. Admittedly, it did cost slightly more than what we would have paid through our cruise ship, but it was so worth it!

We had a lovely day with Claudio. The national park with the falls and volcano are stunning and not to be missed! Puerto Varas was the most charming town we had been to in Chile. Lunch was delicious and the shopping was very good, especially for artesian crafts. We would highly recommend this tour with Claudio!
