Born as a "Country boy" in the Southern field of Puerto Varas, Lake District Chile; I was born surrounded by the great Andes mountain range, volcanoes, evergreen forest, lakes, rivers, farmers and "Baqueanos or Gauchos", who gave me their knowledge and wisdom about our root and why we have to respect and love. Overview of your Puerto Montt tour
We will travel through toward Llanquihue National Reserve (33, 972 hectares), to encounter the great Calbuco Volcano and the temperate rainforest. This National Reserve is part of the Temperate Rainforests of the Austral Andes, declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 2007. At April 2015 was the last eruption. We start our hike by a beautiful forest where we identify the native species, including the Alerce, an evergreen tree that reaches a height of 45 meters and whose diameter can exceed 4 meters wide. We also have opportunity to see, hear, and identify birds such as the black woodpecker, the Huet-Huet, Ibis, Caracaras and other especies. After approximately 4 hours of walking, we arrive at mirador at old refuge of the Calbuco Volcano. The current geological formation has been shaped by a succession of tectonic and glacial processes that highlights the Calbuco Volcano cone which has a height of 2, 015 meters. After the hike, we will return to the pier or hotel. This tour can be customized under request!
Your Puerto Montt tour itinerary
-I will pick you up at pier or hotel. -We will drive from Puerto Montt city to the Austral highway or Route N° 7. -Arrive at Correntoso village. From this point, we will drive 10 Km/7 Miles to the entrance. -Arrive at Llanquihue National Reserve, Lake Chapo sector. -From this point, we will start our 12 miles(17. 5 Km) round trip Hiking. Before, Check our stuff. Safety briefing and entrance to CONAF(rangers). -Walking into the Rainforest and then crossing a Creek. -Arrive at first lookout. Photo stop bordering the lava canyon. -Arrive at second lookout. Photo stop bordering the lava canyon. -Arrive to Rainforest section of Alerces or Redwood. -After 1 hour, we arrive at the goal "Old Refuge". Rest, lunch box and photos. -Back for the same route. -We return by the "Austral highway" route surrounded by fields, farmer villages, fishing villages in front of the Ocean Pacific. -Arrive to the Pier at Puerto Montt or Hotel at Puerto Varas. -End our Services. *Hiking distance 12 Miles/17. 5 Km. approx. round trip.
