Hi, my name is Peter and I was born and raised in Flanders (fields) Belgium. I am a professional private guide and driver in Belgium since 2014 and was a NCO (1th Sgt) in the Belgian Army/Airborne and for 20 years in the Army reserve. After my active duty, I was a salesman and worked in France and Germany. I am fascinated by military history combined with my collection of military vehicles and armory. In 2014 I started guiding. Fully licensed private guide and driver, I will drive you with my personal, comfortable Mid-Bus for groups up to 15 persons ! We would also have nice walks around places of interests and in pedestrian areas, and take a lot of pictures ! I enjoy sharing our local legends and historical accounts. I will also assist you in any arrangements for accommodations, dining, and visits. With the years, I particularly like to organize real tailor made tours all over the countries boarding Belgium. The best way to discover and enjoy a private tour is to be guided by an enthusiastic native! I am very flexible and spare no efforts to make sure you have the best experience possible on your day(s) with me. Your wish is my command or rather my challenge to develop a great personalized experience and to make sure you learn something valuable and of course that you have a great time. Welcome and see you soon! "Currahee" (the motto : 506 PIR - 101 AB) * After Highschool I went to the Military Academy in the Belgian Army. I served as a NCO in the Airborne, in the 1th Para battalion as a Sergeant. * I'm a licensed Tour Guide Europe (2 years/Syntra West School Roeselare, Belgium) * I'm a licensed Battlefield Tour Guide (3,5 years/Syntra West School Roeselare/Belgium) * I'm a licensed Battle of the Bulge Bastogne Guide. * I'm a permittance guide for touristic walks in the city of Bruges. * I'm a member IATM - International Association of Tour Managers. * I'm a member of Tour Guides Flanders. * I'm a full licensed driver for coach & trucks and I have my own Minibus (pax 8) and Midbus (pax 15) no restrictions

We loved the Waterloo tour with Peter. He has an excellent knowledge of the battle. Although the tour is expensive, it covers all the main sites and importantly, has plenty of time in the fabulous museum. We had some knowledge of the battle, but there is nothing like actually being on the ground with an expert guide. We loved it!

What a day! Peter was an incredibly well-informed guide who made the most of our time visiting the Waterloo battlefields and memorials. Through humor, storytelling and a connection to the present, he delivered on our interest and made the whole day seem easy and light. As our teenager said, "Peter took an interesting location and made a lifetime memory for me."

We thoroughly enjoyed our day with Peter, and his tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Belgium. Peter was a very professional guide, personal, with a touch of humour. It was great to spend the day with someone who is passionate about history and sharing it with others. He suggested a great place for lunch, which we enjoyed with him midday. Highly recommend this tour.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable and educational one day tour of Waterloo with Peter in September 2024. He picked us up at our hotel and took us to the battlefield via Wellington's headquarters in the town of Waterloo where there is a nice museum. We then visited the Lion's Mound, the Panorama and the battlefield museum before heading to Hougoumont Farm and then on to Napoleon's headquarters and the Prussian memorial in Plancenoit. Throughout, Peter shared plenty of information about the Battle of Waterloo and its origins but he is also an expert on the battles of World War I and II and Belgian history more generally, so was able to educate us on those as well. We would strongly recommend him.

Peter V. was an excellent guide. He was prompt and his vehicle was clean and very comfortable. He was extremely knowledgeable and as my wife is a college history professor, she was very impressed. Most importantly he was a lot of fun to spend the day with. At the end, I thought we had become good friends. I would certainly use him again. Should we ever return to this part of Europe and I would highly recommend him to my friends.
