Originally from Long Island, New York, I came to Belgium in September, 2000, to study philosophy at the University of Leuven, just outside Brussels. I thought I would be here for just one year, and somehow 26 years have already gone by. I fell in love with Brussels and Belgium for so many reasons, the friendly people, the natural beauty, and its location right in the heart of Europe. I love how international Brussels is, and how it has been a European crossroads for centuries, yet at the same time it is also dynamic and modern. There is a real connection with the past here and you feel it all everywhere in the city and its surrounding landscapes. For over 15 years, I’ve been leading tours not only in Brussels, but to rest of Belgium as well: to Bruges, Antwerp, Ghent, Liège and even to the Abbeys in the Ardennes hills, where monks have been making Trappist beers for centuries. I always try to adapt my tours as much as possible to my clients needs and interests. So, please, by all means, don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have a particular interest, or area that you want to find out more about… I’m happy to tailor any tour to your requests. I hope to see you soon in Brussels where we can share some stories, a bit of history, and some fun in this unexpected gem of a town. Let me show you what I love of Brussels.

Join me on an unforgettable half day in Bruges. We will depart from Brussels in the morning and together take the train to Bruges, where we will have a walking tour through the medieval city. Once the rival of both London and Paris, Bruges is the city where many of Europe's great traditions, such as innovations in painting which gave us the hyper realistic Flemish Primitive painters, and in commerce and trade with the first stock exchange and some of the principals of modern diplomacy first put into practice in Bruges. The tour will consist of à 2.5 hour walking tour and will also include a 30 minute canal boat tour. Often called the Venice of the north, Bruges still holds a special place in the heart of Europe. After the tour you can stay on the rest of the afternoon in Bruges and take the train back to Brussels at your leisure.
We will meet in the main hall of the Brussels Central Train Station and together take the train to Bruges. (Train tickets cost between 12 and 20 euro each way (half price on weekends) In Bruges we will visit the -Minnewatter lake -the Beguinage court -the Wal square - The Church of Our Beloved Lady -Gruuthus Palace -the Canals of Bruges -the Grote Markt and Belfry of Bruges -Brug Square and City Hall
