Hi! I am Koen, born and raised in Bruges. I am what they call 'a local'. I grew up in this mysterious city, so I know Bruges like the back of my hand. Besides being a motivated city guide, I am also a committed historian. When I'm not busy guiding people around downtown, you'll probably find me doing historical research or writing a book or an article. I think the combination of guide and historian is ideal. After all, this way I can continue to delve into the rich past of the city, but I can also share my findings and discoveries with other people. In this way, the historic flame continues to burn. Actually, it was already written in the stars that I would become a city guide, since I have often wandered around the Bruges streets since I was a child, looking for facts, legends and the story behind things. I therefore hope that I can transfer the historical spark to you and let you enjoy the magic of my city.
