We will begin by exploring a quaint convict built hamlet. See Australia's oldest bridge and Catholic Church. Learn about the inspiration for Charles Dickens' Fagin and his connection with this village. We take a stroll around the exterior of the local prison museum and explore the hidden corners of the town.

We stop at the infamous dog line, chained ferocious dogs were placed here during the convict era to raise the alarm when convicts attempted to escape across the isthmus. We also reflect on the indigenous inhabitants of this amazing land and pay tribute to their way of life. A lookout nearby shows great views over the area, a tessellated pavement is natural phenomenon that beggars belief.

The epicenter of Australia's convict history follows dark tales abound. A separate prison attempted to break the spirits of these prisoners. I will tell you the ins and outs of this enigmatic place.

Tasmanian Devil Experience - Private Tour

A visit to Tasmania would not be complete without experiencing the famous Tasmanian Devil in its natural habitat. When European explorers first arrived in Tasmania, they were terrified by what they thought were devils in the forest. Upon learning they were small animals, they were titled the 'Tasmanian Devil'.

First stop is the Coal River Valley, home to Tasmanian Wines and Cheeses. Secondly, you will visit the historic Richmond Village, home to the oldest bridge in Australia, and the tastiest Scallop Pie in the world!

Finally, you will go to the Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary for an evening private feeding tour of the animals. An expert wildlife ranger will take you on a 2 hour tour of the sanctuary, and give the chance to feed almost all of their animals including the Tasmanian Devil, Koalas, Kangaroos, Wallabies and Cockatoos. There will be countless opportunities for priceless photos.

This tour allows guests to walk amongst one of the oldest national parks in Tasmania.
I will introduce the deep old growth wilderness, while we move amongst the rainforest, waterfalls and fern glade landscape. Sharing stories of this special place, allowing our history to play an important role within this experience.

After Mt field National Park we will find a local lunch spot, which is at guests cost.


Once crossing the Derwent river you will head over to Bonorong wildlife Sanctuary, for a walk amongst the native species. At guests cost.

Governed by time, there is an opportunity to head back to Hobart Via Richmond. Our old convict seattlement town, which today play host to all sorts of attractions. The small Richmond gaol, beautiful sandstone architecture. Not to mention the sweet shop and tasting house.

A day on the Peninsula provides our guests with a well balanced Tasmanian experience. Showcasing some of Tasmania's dramatic history, our spectacular wild and woolly coastlines and of course local creative produce.
We like to get an early start, this allows a full day on the peninsula that has its advantages. However, we understand our guests are on holiday or just have so many hours. So we can customize this day tour experience, which will target guests interests and needs.

Nestled in the Freycinet National Park, Wineglass Bay has been voted amongst the best beaches in the world. It is in an area rich in stunning landscapes, pink granite mountains, pristine water, white sandy beaches and wildlife. If you are lucky, you will see a friendly Wallaby!

During the tour, I will tell you about fascinating Aboriginal history, French &amp; British exploration and Tasmania's shocking convict past. We will make stops along the way for a glass of wine at the famous Devil's Corner winery, a hike to the stunning views of Wineglass Bay, and more. For lunch, you will indulge in fresh Tasmanian seafood at the well known Freycinet Marine Farm.

The tour can be explored either in a two (2) day option or a modified one (1) day option. The two-day option will end up in Hobart. Guests will pre-arrange accommodation. I am so happy to bring this tour to my guests. It allows me to showcase the variety and deep talent our local producers have in what is our wine and distilling regions.

With a Hobart accommodation guest pickup, we head off to regional Hobart and discover the Coal River Valley, with an ever changing supply of small to large wineries and boutique distilleries, get your taste buds ready for a wide selection of profiles, flavors and tastings. From light whites to deep reds. From navy strength Gin to smooth whiskeys we have you covered.

This tour really provides a well balanced day out, with a couple of visits in the morning, a local cafe for a relaxing lunch and the afternoon will see us visit two more venues on the way back to Hobart. With a cheeky chocolate or cheese stop before hitting Hobart, around 430/5pm.

This tour allows guests to walk amongst and capture the natural landscape, culture, past industries and some spectacular memories.

Southern farming land, then Deep wilderness will set the scene, as we get closer to Hastings cave for a timed cave tour.

Given your interests and needs, after the cave tour there is an opportunity to explore further short walks, have a swim in the thermal pool, which sits at 28 degrees all year.

Then slowly make our way to lunch at our favourite hotel the Kermandie. OR if prior notice a light picnic can be organised. Both lunch options are at guests cost.

After Lunch we find ourselves looking for the best photo opportunities as we make our way to the wooden boat center.
To realise local craft, the traditional wooden boat building and the industry which survived thoughs years ago.

If time allows there is a local cider, before heading back to Hobart.
