Hello! My name is Will and there are few things in life I am more passionate about than Tasmania. Born and raised in London, I first visited Tasmania during a round-the-world trip in 2006 and fell head over heels in love with this beautiful, wild island. A few years later I moved halfway across the world to live here: that is how much I love this place! As an avid hiker and outdoor enthusiast, I know the island's best walks and views. Before becoming a tour guide I worked for ten years as a Biology teacher: I have extensive knowledge of Tasmania's native plant and animal life as well as its natural history and geology. Let me introduce you to the state's extraordinary wildlife and trees, many of which are found nowhere else on Earth! Even to this day, Tasmania remains Australia's "best kept secret". I will gladly let you in on it! Any of my tours can be customized for you. Please simply inquire for a quote! Public Passenger Vehicle Ancillary Certificate, Public Passenger Vehicle service accreditation First Aid Certificate B.A. (Hons) Natural Sciences, University of Cambridge I do not have any restrictions in regard to my guiding, I can offer a full range of experiences

Start the day with a breathtaking view of the city from the lofty summit of Mount Wellington. From here, the 360-degree views are unforgettable. Discover the quaint historical district of Battery Point with its gorgeously manicured cottages and gardens before heading out eastwards to the picturesque Coal River Valley. Admire the stunningly-preserved architecture of Richmond - home to Tasmania's oldest bridge - as well as its refined art galleries. Lunch will be a real treat: a picnic of gourmet Tasmanian produce to enjoy with a tasting paddle of the region's finest wines, surrounded by lush green vines. After lunch, a visit to the Sullivan's Cove distillery will allow you to experience some truly exceptional whiskies, widely recognised as among some of the best in the world.

William is a knowledgeable, enthusiastic ambassador for the state of Tasmania and the city of Hobart. He worked with us via email to determine our expectations and he met them to perfection. He is obviously well known to the various proprietors, plans timing accurately and offers adjustments as he notes his clients needs. We totally enjoyed our time our visit because of Will's attention to detail and we highly recommend him for short or long visits to Hobart.
William is a fantastic guide. Very professional and welcoming. His knowledge of Tasmanian culture and history is second to none. Nothing was too much trouble very patient with our questions. Absolutely looked after us well and we were very comfortable for our full day tour. A good balance of culture and leisure. We were never rushed, The picnic lunch was great very fresh and delicious and acknowledged our dietary needs of part of our party. Would definitely use William and Tours by Locals again.
