Born and raised in London, I first visited Tasmania during a round-the-world trip in 2006 and fell head over heels in love with this beautiful, wild island. A few years later I moved halfway across the world to live here: that is how much I love this place! As an avid hiker and outdoor enthusiast, I know the island's best walks and views. Before becoming a tour guide I worked for ten years as a Biology teacher: I have extensive knowledge of Tasmania's native plant and animal life as well as its natural history and geology. After lunch, a visit to the Sullivan's Cove distillery will allow you to experience some truly exceptional whiskies, widely recognised as among some of the best in the world.

He is obviously well known to the various proprietors, plans timing accurately and offers adjustments as he notes his clients needs. William is a fantastic guide. Very professional and welcoming. His knowledge of Tasmanian culture and history is second to none. Nothing was too much trouble very patient with our questions. Absolutely looked after us well and we were very comfortable for our full day tour. A good balance of culture and leisure. We were never rushed, The picnic lunch was great very fresh and delicious and acknowledged our dietary needs of part of our party. Would definitely use William and Tours by Locals again.
