Born and raised in London, I first visited Tasmania during a round-the-world trip in 2006 and fell head over heels in love with this beautiful, wild island. A few years later I moved halfway across the world to live here: that is how much I love this place! As an avid hiker and outdoor enthusiast, I know the island's best walks and views. Before becoming a tour guide I worked for ten years as a Biology teacher: I have extensive knowledge of Tasmania's native plant and animal life as well as its natural history and geology. 09:00am - pickup from your accommodation in Hobart 10:15am - arrive Pirates Bay Lookout for panoramic views over Pirates Bay, Eaglehawk Neck and Cape Hauy 10:30am - visit some of the Eaglehawk Neck area's remarkable coastline and spectacular geological features: the Tessellated Pavement, Tasman Arch and Devils Kitchen. 12:00pm - arrive at Port Arthur Lavender Farm for a delicious lunch by the waters of Port Arthur Bay. 1:30pm - arrive at Port Arthur Historic Site for a tour of this UNESCO World Heritage-listed convict station. Between 1833 and 1877, Port Arthur was home to untold thousands of convicts, sentences to transportation from their native country to the other side of the world. Few ever returned.
