Hi, I’m Peter, a seasoned guide and storyteller based in Hobart, Tasmania. My journey into guiding began after years in hospitality, where I worked as a chef and executive chef at a local casino. That background taught me the value of service, attention to detail, and anticipating guests’ needs, skills I now bring to every tour I lead. I started guiding cruise ship visitors with a friend’s company, and eventually took over the business, I offer immersive tours through Hobart’s historic heart. I specialize in private, customizable tours designed for travelers who want more than just a checklist—they want connection, insight, and a local’s perspective. I work with trusted transportation partners to offer comfortable travel for full-day excursions, and I provide engaging commentary throughout. I’ve guided guests from all over the world, including high-end travelers through several agencies, and I’m proud to offer experiences that are thoughtful, well-paced, and rich in storytelling. I speak English and German, and I work independently—no substitutions, no large group tours. I also create custom tour documents and recommendations for guests, so you’ll leave with more than just memories—you’ll leave with inspiration. If you’re looking for a guide who’s friendly, professional, and deeply knowledgeable about Hobart and Tasmania, I’d be honored to show you around. Let’s explore the stories, landscapes, and flavors that make this region truly unforgettable.

Our tour begins at the Hobart's waterfront with sculptures of international artists in recognition of Hobart's colonial past and Antarctic explorers. We will pass the Abel Tasman memorial and the Tasmanian Parliament before visiting David's Park and entering Hampton Road with charming colonial cottages and merchant houses. We will have a closer look at the convict built Salamanca Warehouses and the old Quarry and before ending our tour at the unique historic pub, The Whaler. I discovered my passion for Hobart's colonial past after participating in a tour and began to study and research history. Since 2018 I am the proud owner/operator of two history walking tours in Hobart to continue to pass on my passion and knowledge to visitors. As a long time Hobartian and a chef, I will recommend the best F&B outlets to visit and pass on local knowledge to maximise your visit. However I am open to tailor the tour to your interests.
