For 30 years I have been working as a teacher in an elementary school, I'm retired now, but I still keep working as a Tour Guide. I'm a quiet person and I like to organize relaxed tours, no rushed, taking our time in each stop, enjoying the day. I love Tango Music, I'm a tango dancer and tango teacher, I go to dance twice a week. I love the history of this of this city, called "The Paris of South America", cradle of writers, musician, soccer players and artists. Buenos Aires is surrounded by a "halo" of mystery. I would like to take you to lead you in Buenos Aires, taking you to explore every single corner, telling you every single story and admiring every single iconic place. I like to provide you a complete introduction to our history, but I also like to share with you my favorite places (not necessary touristic places), to test "empanadas" in my favorite restaurant, to see street art and to listen local music…in other words, to share with you a day immersed in our culture. Exploring the northern of Buenos Aires
Overview of your Buenos Aires tour
Tigre City is located 21 miles from Downtown Buenos Aires. It is the gateway to Tigre Delta. It is a place formed by thousands of islands inhabited by a curious community. After picking you up, we will drive north, visiting the elegant district of San Isidro where the ancient mansions once belonged to the wealthy families as summer houses during the XVIII Century. A glimpse of the neo-gothic cathedral is a "must do". Once we arrive in Tigre City, known as "the cradle of the rowing", we will visit the city and the "Puerto de Frutos", a market opened 60 years ago by the "islanders", a place where you can find local handy crafts. Later we get board wooden motor boat, and sail for 1 hour by different channels, enjoying nature and the local culture. There is no way to get the islands by car, because there is no bridges or highways and everything must be taken by boat. However, you will see supermarket boat, taxi boats, ice cream boats, and many oddities!!!

Mirta is a great hostess for her city and its environs. She guided us easily through Buenos Aires and its suburbs, then gave us an insightful introduction to the Tigre Delta. The trip progressed smoothly through the various locations, including the transition from car to boat. The trip provided a fascinating contrast to the formal beauty of BA. Great trip, highly recommended after seeing the big city!

Mirta is delightful! As an historian and former teacher, she knows how to explain the sights and experiences and culture. In fact, she gave us the best explanation of drinking mate on our entire experience in South America (as an example, for I drink mate at home in the USA). Mirta also is thoughtful and considerate.

Mirta was ready for us when we disembarked.Good clean transport.Mirta was very knowledgeable about her country. The only disadvantage was our boat trip was with Spanish speaking peoples which meant Mirta had to keep translating a d commentating, a d when we were in several rows on the ship, which made it difficult for her. We could perhaps also had longer at the market to look around as we were back in the city early, but Mirta then showed us around some of the sights of Buenos Aires. Would recommend
