Exactly what you are looking for, and will exceeded your expectations. I usually do not typically do reviews but feel it was absolutely necessary to express what an amazing experience my family and I had with Paola yesterday. We booked for the 6 hour private tour 1 week prior. The process was simple. I was able to ask her some questions prior to booking. She was able to accommodate me, my wife and two children for a driving tour of Buenos Aires. She picked us up from the front of our place (even though it was impossible to park). She is an amazing guide, and there's a reason she teaches courses at the University (training other guides). I booked her time based on the types of tours she offers - including architectural, walking, food tasting, and discussions about politics and culture. She is all of those things and was able to switch comfortably from one one topic to another, and integrate everything. Paola speaks English effortlessly (speaking and listening both). Amazing ability to multitask - directing attention to embassies, parks, public art, museums - while confidently navigating crowded streets in her comfortable Volkswagen. She is very good at showing off her native Buenos Aires. Typically the tour starts in the old town (South), and progress through to the new town (North) - makes chronological sense in developing the story. This time however, she suggested we reverse the order as Argentina FC was playing and it was Lionel Messi's last game prior to retirement (which would blockade multiple routes in the North). We started at the Recoleta cemetery. She knew intimately details of many of the tombs, knew the cemetery layout, and easily shared stories and brought us to Evita Duarte's mausoleum. We took a moment at a cafe to try some pastries and drink coffee. This was an opportunity to chat and learn about daily life in Buenos Aires. I really appreciated time spent just chatting about the education system, and differences between Argentina and Canada. Paola is so passionate about educating and weaving a narrative about BA's rich and complicated history. She brings you into the the world of culture, politics, architecture, history and art - if you are interested in any of those things, she will curate an experience that only a local with passion and expertise could provide. Because we started off from the most recent neighborhoods, then to the oldest neighborhoods, she went back and forth explaining trying to ensure we understood everything. She would also remember topics touched upon earlier on, and would later on reference the same thought and provide additional information. So many things to see. Trust her to make it happen. The best way to orient yourself to Buenos Aires, and have a blueprint about how to structure the rest of your visit to BA. I would highly, highly recommend her. Paola is absolutely worth meeting, and the experience could possibly be the best part of your entire trip. Thanks so much!
