Hola, cómo están?! My name is Guillermo Gentile and I am a creator of unique and wonderful memories. I love being an experienced and professional Licensed Tour Guide, I have almost 2 decades working on this field traveling around the world. For me to be Licensed to guide you I went to University for 4 years. I´m in love with my city and I am really convinced visiting Buenos Aires should be vibrant, passionate, colorful and full of exciting experiences and flavours. I specialize in History, Architecture, Food, Nature and Worldwide History. To travel is not only visiting different places without context but to mingle with the locals, being part of the culture and going to those hidden spots where we go for food, wine and to have fun! My services start right at the moment you hire me, that means phone calls to prepare your entire trip in Argentina: Buenos Aires, Iguassu Falls, Mendoza, Patagonia, Calafate, Usuahia and more destinations. Long time ago I comenced as a Tour Guide, 2007, with time I realized people didn't want to go over and over to the same places, listening to so many dates so I changed all of that for curated and personalized tours and that's why I am known in Argentina. Most of my tours have been customized according to people´s preferences. Before becoming a Professional Tour Guide I was a Pro Basketball player in Argentina. I think that tenacity of being so dedicated to it showed me the way to spend so many hours reading and searching about my city. Having hundreds of people, families, couples, and heterogeneous groups my focus was always to make them smile, if necessary to cry as well because Buenos Aires is Tango and Buenos Aires is also melancholy, soccer, basketball, Malbec, Asado, Messi, Maradona and Mate. I have traveled my lovely Argentina but also countries such as: Wales, Ireland, Brazil, England, Uruguay, USA, Canada, Spain and Portugal among others. From those countries and people I have nourished myself. Please let me lead you to this fantastic adventure in Argentina. Licensed Tour Guide by ENTUR RL-2016-20962119-ENTUR, Autonomus City of Buenos Aires. First Aid and CPR course endorsed by the Barceló Foundation.

Overview of your Buenos Aires tour

How to be in Buenos Aires and not going to the May Square , watch the Obelisk or have a cup of coffee in an emblematic Cafe? In order to really get to understand us, the " porteños, " you got to walk with me and discover this Iconic Pearl of South America. The Southern area presents the origins of our city, by walking this area and entering to different buildings you will comprehend part of our history and why our architecture makes Buenos Aires so appealing. The Northern area will take you to Europe, the parks, the art, the sculptures, museums, Parisian architecture , the famous Recoleta's Cemetery, the Grand Splendid Bookstore and more will complete the day. During the tour we could have a WINE TASTING ! Because life is all about experiences. ( Tuesdays to Saturday, CHECK WITH ME FOR AVAILABILITY). *During the Tour there will be 1 hour for you to have lunch/ recess.

Our tour with Guillermo was great! He had incredible knowledge of his beautiful city and we really enjoyed all of it. It was a mix of walking and getting around the different areas in a very nice van. His lunch suggestion was a nice sample of Argentinan food. I would highly recommend him!! We had a group of 5 and it was perfect...starting at the Recoleta cemetery and ending at the Mercato. Fabulous!

We had a truly wonderful day touring Argentina with Guillermo through ToursByLocals, and we couldn’t have asked for a better guide. From the moment we met him, his gentle kindness and calm presence set the tone for a relaxed and enjoyable experience. Guillermo’s knowledge is truly impressive—he shared history, culture, and local insight in a way that felt natural and engaging, never overwhelming. We were especially grateful for the comfort of his van, which made the day easy and enjoyable, allowing us to fully take in everything around us. What stood out even more was his attentiveness and care during the national holiday marches. Navigating a busy and dynamic environment, Guillermo made sure we felt safe at all times, guiding us thoughtfully and confidently so we could simply enjoy the day without worry. And of course, we have to mention the food! Thanks to Guillermo, we experienced some of the best pizza and helado in South America—truly unforgettable and such a fun highlight of the day. Guillermo created an experience that was not only informative, but also warm, safe, and deeply enjoyable. We are so grateful for the care he showed and the memories he helped create. We highly recommend him to anyone looking to explore Argentina with someone who truly cares about your experience. Diane, Bob, Mike, JC and Joy

Guillermo – Buenos Aires, Argentina Guillermo provided an exceptional introduction to the "Paris of the South." His deep knowledge of Argentine history and local culture turned a standard city tour into an immersive story. From the colorful streets of La Boca to the historic elegance of Recoleta, he navigated the city with ease, offering insider perspectives that you simply won't find in a guidebook. I highly recommend Guillermo if you want to understand the true spirit of Buenos Aires.

My group of 7 from Florida hired Guillermo for our day before taking our Celebrity South America cruise. We enjoyed our day with him and decided to hire him for a second day touring Buenos Aires after our cruise. Guillermo bought tickets for us to have a 1 hour tour of Teatro Colon, Buenos Aires's opera house. It was stunning inside and we certainly understood why it's one of the top 5 opera houses in the world. Most of us are Catholics and we asked Guillermo to take us to Mass. He researched the time and fit our visit at the gorgeous Metropolitan Cathedral into the day's schedule. While there, we saw soldiers marching to relieve 2 other soldiers guarding the mausoleum of General Jose de San Martin, Argentina's national hero and liberator. We visited Casa Rosada, a huge pink mansion that holds the offices of the President of Argentina. It was time for lunch and Guillermo selected Pizzeria Guerrin for us to enjoy. This restaurant has been rated the best pizzeria in Argentina with pizza ovens that make 1,000 pizzas every day. We loved all 3 pizzas ordered and decided these were the best pizzas we have ever eaten. Great choice Guillermo! After lunch, we had a tour of the tunnels built under ground of some buildings. It was very interesting to hear the history of why they were built by the families living above them. During my research of Buenos Aires, I had not read about these tunnels and certainly appreciated Guillermo suggesting we see this area. As you can see, we saw so many wonderful sights during our last day in Buenos Aires. I merely listed a few key sights from many other areas we saw by van. Guillermo's love for his city is contagious and all 7 of us Floridians left Buenos Aires loving the city with its sights, culture, history, and food. If you are looking for an outstanding tour guide who is warm, informative, and accommodating, Guillermo Gentile is the man for you!!!

If you want a comprehensive tour of Buenos Aires, then Guillermo Gentile is the tour guide for you. He exceeded our expectations and we left with our heads filled with a wealth of knowledge concerning food, politics, history, and pride in one's country. Guillermo had a list of key sights he wanted to show our party of seven, and yet, he took the time to listen to my suggestions of what we wanted to see. Any questions I asked of him, were answered within 24 hours. His communicative skills were excellent and interesting and the pride and love of his country was obvious to us all. Guillermo purchased our tickets to see the Recoleta Cemetery and we were in awe at the size of the mausoleums throughout. We had never seen anything like this in all our travels. We wanted to make reservations to dine at an upscale restaurant serving the famous Argentine beef and he again offered to call them and take care of our reservation. La Cabrera is the name of the restaurant and we all agreed the beef was the best we have ever tasted. He showed us many buildings that were once owned by wealthy families and are now embassies of many countries in Buenos Aires. Guillermo selected a lovely restaurant for lunch serving delicious empanadas and then took us to El Ateneo Grand Splendid, the most beautiful 3 story book store we have ever seen. It was originally an antique theater with dazzling lights throughout the store. Our group has another day planned touring with Guillermo after our South America cruise, and we can't wait to see him again and see the many other sights on our list. You will leave Buenos Aires a very satisfied client. Lorraine from Florida
