We will discover the highlights of my city, and it's history and culture, listening the sounds and feeling it's energy as the Porteño does. Walking through the city at your own rhythm, we will explore Plaza de Mayo and it's surrondings, San Telmo, the oldest neighborhood; the Recoleta Cemetery, Palermo Area. We will also go by bus to La Boca and Caminito, were it is said that the Tango was born We are going to try the subway and the buses. . . . " Colectivos" as people call them. This is a tailored made tour, so I can change the itinerary in order to fulfill your requests. You shall see the city through the eyes of a real passionate Porteña. Mercedes is a very knowledgeable person when it comes to Buenos Aires! She took our family of 5 around the city for four hours, and we learned so much! It was great to get the background on the city and have the opportunity to ask questions of a real expert. What a great tour! There were 8 of us on this 4 hour tour and we all agreed, this was probably one of the best private tours ever. Mercedes was very sincere in her love for her city of Buenos Aires. During the tour of the Recoleta cemetary, she covered nearly the entire history of the people of Argentina and the government changes over the centuries. She has an incredible talent for weaving the stories of individuals into the history in such an interesting and engaging way. Thank you Mercedes for sharing your beautiful city with us!!

If Machu Picchu and Iguazu Falls are the sparkling crown jewels of South America, BA is the unexpectedly beautiful gemstone. We spent much of our first day in BA with Mercedes on a walking tour. We met her at Recoleta Cemetery and made our way across the city. We made several stops, including the Metropolitan Cathedral, and she pointed out several other cafes, restaurants, and attractions that we visited subsequent four days before heading to Iguazu Falls for three nights. Mercedes’ fascinating and long history living in the city was a real asset to us. She understands BA’s politics and people. She knows all the stories and where all the bones are buried (literally and figuratively). Mercedes was one of the best, if not the best, private tour guide we’ve ever engaged. We highly recommend her. We also highly recommend making BA your gateway to Iguazu Falls.
I can definitely customize a tour for you. Depending on your pace and preferences we can combine some (and not all) of the highlights like: - Plaza de Mayo (political center of the country) - Government House (known as Pink House, from outside) - BA Metropolitan Cathedral (guided visit inside) - La Boca - Caminito (the old port where tango was born) - San Telmo (old area famous for its antique stores - and flea market Sundays - - Puerto Madero (the newest district dedicate to the women) - 9 de Julio Av. (the widest avenue of the world) - Obelisk & Opera House (both from outside) - Recoleta Cemetery (guided visit including Evita's grave and an introduction to her life) - Palermo Gardens - In our circuit there are museums like Evita's museum, Malba, Fine Arts, Colon Theatre (Opera House) etc. if you are interested in visiting any of them, I can customize a circuit, fitting them (admission tickets are not included in the price of the tour).
