" This is the way we locals are called and it means "people from the port, " because the port of Buenos Aires was the most important one in the country for many years. Tigre Delta is a place formed by thousands of islands inhabited by a curious community. After picking you up in a private car, we will drive north, visiting the elegant district of San Isidro where the ancient mansions once belonged to the wealthy families as summer houses during the XVIII Century. A glimpse of the neo-gothic cathedral is a "must do". Once we arrive in Tigre City, known as "the cradle of the rowing", we will visit the city and the "Puerto de Frutos", a market opened 60 years ago by the "islanders", a place where you can find local handy crafts. Later we get board a PRIVATE MOTOR BOAT (just for us), and sail by different channels, enjoying nature and the local culture. During our boat trip you have the opportunity to stop for lunch at El Gato Blanco, an culinary experience! There is no way to get the islands by car, because there is no bridges or highways and everything must be taken by boat. However, you will see supermarket boat, taxi boats, ice cream boats, and many oddities

Four of us enjoyed a wonderful day trip with Ana to the lovely colonial town of San Isidro and the beautiful Tigre Delta, less than an hour from Buenos Aires. Ana arranged a private speedboat tour along some of the canals of the immense delta, where we saw a Cocoi Heron close up, some Anahingas drying out their wings, as well as many other birds. At our request, she also arranged lunch at a lovely canal side restaurant, Gato Blanco. She is an excellent guide, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about her country, and we enjoyed her company. We highly recommend her and the Tigre Delta experience.
Enjoyed the enclosed boat tour on a rainy day. While the weather was less than perfect, the sights were fabulous and we really enjoyed the insights Ana shared with us!
