Hi! My name is Mercedes, and I am a professional tour guide. Born and raised in the city I'm in love with: Buenos Aires. Let's enjoy together! Since my childhood I've had a passion for travel, so I decided to study tourism; then, after visiting lots of cities and countries I concluded that my city was spectacular! We have an original mix of Tango, Pampas and Europe; with an architecture that's reminiscent of France, Spain and New York's skyscrapers. Art, museums, music, food, polo, fashion: my city has it all! Buenos Aires, the queen of Del Plata, has a lot to offer to you. I can show you the highlights of the city, the hidden corners, the tales and legends; we can have a coffee, like a real porteño does almost every day, or may be you can try a Mate! We can walk, we can ride a private car, or take a "Colectivo" (bus). Nothing is written, you can write your own story, here, with me. We loved our trip to Colonia, Uruguay with Mercedes! She organized the entire visit so we had no stress over getting the tickets (she handled), crossing the border both directions and getting through customs (she gave us detailed instructions and walked us through), etc. Colonia was fascinating and this was a very educational trip for our entire family group (four young adults ages 18-22 and two adults ages 52 and 54). Mercedes has tremendous knowledge about the history and culture of the entire area (Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, the influence of the Spanish, Portuguese and English and related matters) and all of us learned a tremendous amount. She is a patient and excellent teacher. We also had a very nice lunch with her at a local restaurant, got to meet some local dogs and cats (the kids loved it) and had a nice walk through the city, the old fortifications, and the waterfront. This day trip was one of the highlights of our Buenos Aires vacation (first visit for all of us to Argentina) and also was a nice break from the hustle and bustle of the city - no hustle and bustle in Colonia! Highly recommended!

This second tour with Mercedes was an as amazing experience as the first and provided a view of a different area. The Colonia is much more relaxed and easy going than the city of Buenos Aires, and the day was breezy and not as hot as the city. Again, we were impressed with her depth of knowledge of the area and her ability to also focus on the things that she had learned we were most interested in. We spent time getting to know her as well. What a pleasant way to spend the day. We highly recommend her for any tour you can.

I really felt this was something out of the ordinary. I’ve been to Buenos Aires before - years ago, and after having done the full day and half day tour of the city I felt I wanted to see something different. We met at the Ferry station and sailed to Uruguay. Mercedes took care of all the logistics from the tickets to making sure I understood which lines to enter for passport control on both ends. It could be confusing if you don’t speak Spanish so I really appreciated it. The city itself is so charming. Quiet and peaceful and a nice break from the hustle and bustle of Buenos Aires. We had a lovely lunch al fresco and I really enjoyed learning about the past and honestly, just talking with Mercedes was a delight.

We had a wonderful time visiting Colonia del Sacramento with Mercedes! She helped us to navigate the border crossing procedures and escorted us on a very smooth ferry ride across the Rio de la Plata. Colonia is a beautiful old historic town. We learned a lot about the history and culture of coastal Uruguay, enjoyed a fantastic lunch, and then returned to Buenos Aires.
