Guide #29726
With a family presence in the Glens of Antrim stretching back nearly 400 years, a third level qualification in Irish History and a keen interest in the culture, heritage, history and wildlife of this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, you could say that this visually stunning part of Ireland is in my DNA. Let me tell you of ancient warriors and battles, Irish fairies and folklore, let me show you abandoned castles and churchyards that have played a major part in the life of the Glens of Antrim and have shaped its people into what we are today - fiercely independent with links both to the Hebridean Islands of western Scotland as well as Ireland. An accredited storyteller with an acute interest in local Celtic mythology, let me guide you around cascading waterfalls, rugged mountains, secluded beaches and charming coastal villages via roads almost as old the Glens themselves. To say I am passionate about guiding tourists through this area is an understatement. I have been doing it on a voluntary basis since childhood and believe totally in my ability as a guide as much as I believe that the Glens of Antrim are unsurpassed in terms of scenery anywhere in the world. World Host accredited in Customer Service and an accreditation as a storyteller have helped ensure a fascinating, informative and thought-provoking tour. I can honestly say that I am overwhelmed with reviews received from enchanted customers as well as the number of repeat visitors to the area. As the saying goes "I must be doing something right"! If I could give ten stars I would! The personal insights gave depth to an amazing tour. We could not have seen all we did if we’d taken a bus tour. Thank you John!!

Wow! John was an amazing guide, very personable and friendly. A true local who loves showing off the area where he grew up and still lives. He knows all the history, all the back roads and photo op spots, and throws in a good measure of amazing places off the beaten tourist track. Flexible with our itinerary due to a last minute train ticket booking, John made the most...

Excellent Tour, John Robbin created a custom tour of the Giant's Causeway and two of Thomas Dambo's trolls located in the Sperrin Mountains. He took us to the Peace Wall and Dunluce Castle as well. John is very knowledgeable and entertaining. He took us thru County Tyrone, a part of Ireland most tourists don't get to see. This is not one of his is usual tours but he...

Four of us with diverse interests had a delightful day with John Robbin. We spent much of the day enjoying the rural glens area on local roads through many small villages. The scenery is beautiful and we...
