This tour has been created after 25 years in the tourist industry keeping husband and wives happy. For the tourist who want to keep each other happy (drinking)and avoid the tourist traps. Most of my tourist haven't got the time to visit an old bar after a long day at the Causeway. So l have tailor made a tour based going around some of the oldest bars in Belfast starting White Tavern 1630 Kelly cellars 1720 Crown bar 1849 Europa hotel most bombed hotel in the world just to name a few. This tour has a bit of sightseeing early in the morning until the pubs and bars open at 12. 00 noon Monday to Saturday and 1. 00 o'clock Sundays.
Gerard was fantastic. He helped us understand so much of what makes Belfast unique. His knowledge of the history and politics of the area was beyond anything we could have hoped for. He had many stories directly related to his own family that brought the history to life. He even surprised us with a special stop that made the entire day. I will leave it at that so he can perhaps surprise another client in the future. We highly recommend Gerard!
This was our favorite excursion of our entire cruise...Gerard was a fantastic guide, very knowledgeable of the history - we learned so much. We had a group of 5, ages 51-72. We had plenty of time to see the highlights and I learned the magpie song. :-) And who could forget the ginger bread? So delicious...hi Mum! It was also refreshing not be herded like cattle through an excursion or have to wait on that one stragler. I would recommend this tour to my family and friends.
Gerard knows his stuff! He was on time to pick up our group for our tour. Since we were early, before local pubs opened, he took us to the waterfront to show us and educate us all about the history the politics of the area. He even had photos of before and afters to show us. Knowing that we were golfers he surprised us with a visit to a golf course of local golf superstar complete with pictures taken with trophies! We loved it. The final part of our city tour to a local pub was the cherry on top. Perfect!
Gerard put together a fabulous tour for us in Belfast. We could have spent more hours with him learning much about its history, culture, and economy. He was so well prepared with visual documentation of events of the last century. Showed us the remarkable architecture much of it glass in a period of quiet. We hope we can revisit again perhaps for an American football game in August of 2023.Thank you so much for the memorable day in Belfast.
