Hello I'm Emma a qualified professional Tour Guide and one of the few female Tour Guides in Belfast. I am a working mother and I gained a First Class Honors Degree in Humanities which led to a career change and I have a particular interest in uncovering some of the history relating to the women of Belfast. I was born and raised in Belfast, a city I'm very proud of and which has changed immensely over the last fifty plus years! Some things never change and that is the warmth and humour which we share regardless. I have always been interested in the history of Belfast so being a Tour Guide is the perfect job for me as I can offer a wide variety of walking tours and experiences to suit your needs. Belfast has a complex history which I'm happy to explain in an interesting and informative way. I would love to share my passion and personal experiences of the city with you. Visitors to Belfast are always surprised at our warmth and humour and I am happy to share some of our famous hospitality with you. Tours can always be customised according to your own specification so if you see something you like get in touch!

Once known for its industries, Belfast has transformed into a dynamic city that celebrates its heritage while embracing contemporary art, music, and architecture. It has a complex history, particularly tied to the period known as the Troubles, but Belfast has become a symbol of resilience and renewal and provides a welcoming and engaging experience for visitors from all over the world. You can explore Belfast on a private walking tour with me, a qualified Tour Guide and one of the few female Guides in the city. As I am also a native ‘Belfastian’ born and raised here I can promise you an interesting "wee" walk (one of our favourite words!) on our half day stroll around the city. I’ll take you to some great locations that you won’t find in the guidebooks and there will be plenty of photo opportunities in some of the most scenic and instagrammable places in the city. I can of course customise this tour so if there's something specific you would like to see or hear about let me know
I will meet you at your hotel if you are staying in the city centre, or outside Belfast City Hall if not. Our tour begins at City Hall, where we’ll discuss the ill-fated “ship of dreams,” Titanic, built here in Belfast. We’ll then walk through the Linen Quarter to explore the industries that shaped the city before visiting St Malachy’s Church. From there, we head to St George’s Market to enjoy the atmosphere and local delights of Belfast’s famous covered market (weekends only). Entering the Legal District, we’ll discuss Belfast’s troubled past before taking the lift to the Dome at Victoria Square for panoramic city views. We’ll continue to the Cathedral Quarter, stopping at the Frederick Douglass statue before exploring Belfast’s oldest streets, where we can enjoy a coffee or something stronger! We then visit St George’s Church, featured in Derry Girls, before walking along the River Lagan to Waterfront Hall, famous for its role in the 1998 Peace Agreement, before returning to City Hall.
