I am a native of the Basque Country and since 2015, I am dedicated to making people who visit us happy, while enjoying our history, culture, sports and gastronomy, in the most local, sustainable and healthy way possible. I am not, the typical traditional tour guide, that they don't stop talking and only show you, the commercial touristic places. My goal is to be your local friend, to you can enjoy, the real lifestyle of the Basques and to can show you, what it is away from the tourist masses, where you will not arrive in your own. With me, you will not only see places, you will experiment like locals we like to do. So, you will be a lucky visitor, instead of being one tourist more. But I will be, just a person who will introduce you to this little paradise hidden in the world, for which I am more and more in love, because this land, people and culture they are unique in the world. The Basque Country is a magical place, where the mountain mixed with the sea gave the opportunity for one of the oldest civilization in the world, to still alive today, preserving its original language, and some of the most important traditions and customs. I really appreciated this, so I did not have to try to rebook something else. Julen is very knowledgeable of the area and friendly. Julen is a tremendous tour guide. His tour was well thought out and organized. We got to interact with many of the locals in non-tourist areas which was a lot of fun. The drive into the Pyrenees and visit to a "secret" restaurant was one of the best experiences I have ever had on a tour.

What a great day we had with Julen, experiencing the local Basque hospitality in beautiful and natural surroundings. We visited a local winery and were treated to a wine tasting with accompaniments, enjoyed around the table in the farmer's kitchen. Still thinking about this tour. Amazing. Julen is friendly, engaging, knowledgeable and so proud to share his Basque heritage and country with the world. You will get to experience off the beaten path truly local basuqe way of life with him. Totally worth it. The food and beverage and the farmers / people met on the tour are all fantastic.
