Hello my friends, or "Aupa maitia" in Basque! Here in Bilbao, we usually say that: "Locals are born where they want", which means that you don't have to be born here to feel like you belong here. That’s my case! I am Susana, I was born in Athens, Greece, and I was living in Seville when, in April 2018 came to visit the Guggenheim Museum. That was it!!! Do you believe in "love at first sight?" I fell in love with the Museum, the city,, but mostly with its people, the proud Basques and their way of life, which is unique in the world, like their language, the enigmatic euskera, their football team - Athletic - and more (that I challenge you to discover with me). So, I moved to live in Bilbao and, since 2022, I became an Official Tour Guide, because you know, we only live once! I have studied “Spanish language, history and culture” in the Greek University of EAP, so what better than to combine my knowledge, my passion for the place and my travelling experience as a lonely traveller. When ravelling on your own, you get to discover much more than the buildings, the museums, or even the tastes; you get to experience the everyday life and meet the locals. That is the challenge of my job, and I think of every Tour Guide; to create unforgettable experiences and a lot of fun about places that you just probably visit once. And for that, I'm more than willing to adjust any tour according to your needs, your desire of the moment and go the extra mile for whatever might (and always, actually) comes up. There’s one thing that I need to make clear about myself: I don’t understand differences between men and women; I’m completely colour-blind when it comes to human skin colour; I strongly believe that all sexual orientations are sacred and everybody should be free to do with hers / his body whatever she/he wants; I respect all religions and I think that all people are equal under the tender sight of sun, and especially for that, money makes absolutely no matter. I want you to know all these about me, before you finally book me for a tour. But whatever you do, please do come and visit us with an open mind and an open heart, because we’re very proud of our Land Euskal Herria. We are waiting for you!

If you really want a tour by a local, then you probably like to experience, eat, drink and shop like the locals Bilbainos do, right? At least that was my case, when I first moved to live here. This tour that I've created is about letting you inside the everyday life of the local people, by visiting the most traditional restaurants-bars-public places of Bilbao and sharing stories from the past. Needless to say, that you can taste anything you would love to (optional)
Bilbao is a must see city and Susanne is a tour guide who brings the city to life. She is passionate, caring, knowledgeable, and a lovely person to spend the day with. If you want to understand why Bilbao is on everybody’s bucket list spend the day with Susanne. You will not be disappointed.
Susanne K. was just wonderful. We had some scheduling problems starting the tour but she worked around it and spent additional time with us making sure that we learned about Bilbao as a community and a great foodie city. She took us to “non-touristy “ and very interesting locales. She was personable, knowledgeable and a joy to work with.
Susanne was great. She met us at our hotel and we discussed what we wanted to see since there are many places to go. She tailored our tour for us. She has a vast knowledge of Bilbao, it's history and the surrounding areas. She showed us many beautiful and interesting things that you probably wouldn't see on a "highlights" tour. We were really interested in experience where the locals eat and didn't disappoint. We had time for shopping too. When some of our group decided to head back to the hotel, we kept going and took the funicular to see the city from a high point. Susanne is full of energy and really give her all to ensure a great experience for everyone.

Susanne's knowledge and love for Bilbao is so impressive! We flew in yesterday and will stay in Bilbao several more days. And now, because of the introduction Susanne gave us, we feel oriented and inspired enough to hop on and off the tram and the metro and explore even more. My husband and I enjoyed every minute of this memorable tour. The pace was perfect and we saw a well curated variety of sites in the new and old parts of this wonderful city, thanks to our most excellent guide.

We will visit: - The most popular bakery of the Old City. - The oldest market of the city, which used to hold a Guinness record as the biggest market of Europe. - The two train stations of Bilbao. - The oldest restaurant in Bilbao. - The post office and the public school. - The culture centre with its library and gym. - Taste the best tortilla of the city. - And taste the best sandwich in Bilbao. - Taste the famous Gildas where the locals do. - The park where the grandparents bring their grandchildren. - The "cathedral" of Bilbao. - And we will finish at the end of the city, where the "Manhattan of Bilbao" is to be constructed. We will use all public transportation. I am open to any changes, adjustments and needs that you might have. Just let me know.
