Kaixo! I am Joseba a young euskaldun (Basque speaking person, wrongly translated in to Basque) born and raised in Bilbao. I am an official tour guide in the Basque region and my aim is to get you close to our beautiful land and culture. My career began as an environmental technician, which gave me a great knowledge about our superb nature. But 7 years ago, I decide to move to Berlin and there I found a job that fits in with my skills and preferences: guiding people on their journeys. Since then, I've lived in four countries and guided hundreds of travellers in different parts of the world, until I decide to come back to my beloved Bilbao, three years ago. As a guide, I am a really proactive, serious and passionate one. I am all the time trying to improve my skills and knowledge, always curious about history, folklore and cultural aspects of societies. All my tours can be given in the five languages I speak: Basque, Spanish, English, German and Italian. With all this experience I want to invite you to discover the Basque Country from close, getting in touch with the local people, their tradition and culture, as the surrounding enchanted nature. My way of working could be easily described in two words: Slow Tourism. Come to visit with me the charming Basque Country, you won't regret! Discover about our vibrant culture, delicious gastronomy and ancient history. Grab a Basque beret, put it on and begin to feel like a real Basque! ONGI ETORRI! -Degree in Environmental Science in 2008. -Professional guide in the Basque Country, running my own responsible tourism company with all the permissions and insurances. -Experience as a guide in different countries: four years as a bike tour guide in Berlin and three years as a walking and bike guide in the Basque Country. -Certified titles for several languages: Advanced Certified in English by Cambridge University (C1), B2 in Deustch bei Goethe Institut and E.G.A. (basque language's highest degree). Not allowed to drive with more than 8 people. If you are a larger group, let me know and a bigger vehicle with driver would be arranged.

Discover the scene of "Rifkin's Festival" or "The Sun Also Rises". On this tour, you will perfectly understand why this city conquered the heart of many renowned persons such as Victor Hugo, Ernst Hemingway or Woody Allen. I've always been in love with Donostia (the Basque name and how locals call it), not just for the beauty of the spot, but also because within the Basque cities, is in San Sebastian where you can better get in touch with the Basque Culture, where Europe's oldest language, Basque, is most often spoken. Moreover, if we talk about local culture, gastronomy deserves a special mention. San Sebastian is the second city in the world with more Michelin Stars per inhabitant, just behind Tokyo. But not just the haute cuisine, everyday food is gorgeous here. I love to see my guest's faces when they try the local specialities, the Pintxos.

Joseba was an awesome guide - highly recommendable without a doubt! He was very knowledgeable about the entire region and took great care to show us a great variety of things. He was humorous and took real interest in us - exceptionally attentive and receptive to our needs and wishes. He really went out of his way to accomodate us and clearly loves the Basque Country, its history, culture and people and knows about all the interesting stuff that you would want to see. He's very flexible and perfectly adapted the itinerary to our interests and needs - 5 stars without a doubt, you won't be disappointed if you choose this incredibly friendly guide!
Joseba was a great guide. He took us to so many beautiful areas, introduced us to his favorite Pintxos and the Basque Cheesecake (OH MY - Delicious), and shared so much history of San Sebastian. His tour was informative, we never felt rushed, and the tour "pace" was just right.
Joseba was a wonderful guide and told us interesting history of Spain while showing us beautiful places. He tolerated my quest for scenic pictures and was flexible about what we wanted. Great local lunch selection and so kind and friendly! Threw in extra time to make an extra stop and see a bit of Balbao! We loved our day with him!
The tour will begin and end at an agreed place: hotel, airport, cruise terminal. . . It takes about 75 minutes dive to get to San Sebastian. - Mount Igeldo, where you will to get the best view of the city and have the opportunity to take a wonderful picture. About 30 minutes. - Our second stop will be at "El Peine de los Vientos, probably Eduardo Chillida's (world renowned local artist) most amazing artwork. About 30 minutes In the afternoon we will explore the town on foot and relax to enjoy it for about 4 hours: La Concha Beach, Parte Vieja (old town), the Port or the Buen Pastor Cathedral. Obviusly we would have time to try the little treasures of the local cuisine: the Pintxos. -Drive back for 75 minutes.
