Discovering the soul of the Basque people is not simply a journey — it is an experience of life, culture, and identity. I would be delighted to help you take a small part of that spirit back home with you. My name is Aitor (pronounced “I-tour”). Many guests smile when they hear it, as if my name had somehow predicted my profession. In Basque tradition, Aitor is the legendary father of the Basques. I am certainly no mythological figure — but I am proudly Basque, born and raised in this remarkable land, and deeply passionate about sharing its culture and way of life. Over the years I have specialized in designing private, tailor-made cultural journeys for discerning travelers seeking a deeper understanding of the Basque Country. Through an extensive network within the region’s premium hospitality, gastronomy, and cultural sectors, I create experiences shaped around your interests, pace, and curiosity. Bilbao is often the perfect starting point. Walking through its historic streets reveals the proud and vibrant spirit locals call the botxera soul. Yet the Basque Country offers many dimensions within easy reach. You may wish to explore the dramatic coastline and fishing heritage of places such as San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, the harbor town of Bermeo, the natural sanctuary of Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve, or the elegant fishing village of Getaria. Others prefer discovering how history, nature, and Basque identity intertwine in places such as Gernika — immortalized by Pablo Picasso — or the spiritual beauty of the Sanctuary of Loyola. If time allows, I often recommend exploring other remarkable corners of the region: – Vitoria-Gasteiz, celebrated internationally for its harmony between medieval heritage, contemporary design, and sustainability. – Rioja wine region, where spectacular landscapes, medieval villages, and some of Spain’s most prestigious wines define the experience. – San Sebastian, a refined coastal city where gastronomy, elegance, and cultural life meet the Atlantic. – And the sophisticated charm of Biarritz and the French Basque Country, where Basque, French, and Spanish influences blend beautifully. I am an official tour guide accredited by the Basque Government, a member of the Association of Professional Guides of the Basque Country, and part of the luxury travel network Basque Luxury. Select according to what your souls asks of you. And if you have other ideas, we can begin designing a private journey shaped entirely around what inspires you most. Overview of your Bilbao tour

Espiritu Botxero! Botxero is a local lingo for "of Bilbao" This is what I want you to feel with this tour: Our true spirit, Bilbao Spirit As a Basque born and bred and a lover of art, food, traditions and innovation Bilbao has been always a reference for me. I went to the college here and also worked for more than 25 years here so I have lived nice and hard moments in this friendly and vibrant city. I am looking forward to sharing with you the city I discovered when I was growing as a child & how we lived and understood the changes in the city after the arrival of the Guggenheim Museum. The present and future of the biggest city of the Basque Country! In this day tour we will have time to see the icons and also those off-the-beaten track places that only some locals know: see our famous architecture, but also see how we enjoy life, taste best Basque pintxos and local food. Maybe if you want try to communicate with the locals in our own language! So, as we say: "Laster arte!" (Basque for "see you soon")

Ay madre mía !! If I could give 10 stars I would! What an amazing time we had today . It was a group of 4. We had been in Bilbao 5 yrs ago and I must say Aitior showed us the new Bilbao… the history, the vibrant city it has become, little gems only a proud local would know about. Surprised to see the young people mingling with the older crowd in the Plaza . Thank you Aitor for your kindness and passion for what you do and for your beautiful “village”. Hasta luego !!

Can’t say enough about our amazing day with Aitor. Our tour of the Guggenheim (inside and outside) was the best museum tour we have ever had. Aitor made the building and the artwork come alive. We then toured the city with pinxhos along the way. Such a fun and educational day that was topped off by good wine and great bites.

Our guide, Aitor Delgado was wonderful! He was at the Bilbao airport to greet us as we arrived and took us on a comprehensive tour of the city. He offered great information about the city's history and culture. We especially wanted to see the Guggenheim museum, which exceeded our expectations. We walked the old city and had a fabulous typical Portuguese lunch. Aitor was the perfect guide for our one day tour of Bilbao!
