I was born in San Sebastian, Basque Country, I'm a person who loves travelling and sharing my experiences with people. I have visited over 70 countries and guided travellers, friends and family for long time. After travelling around the world in my last big trip, during 14 months, I'm even more prepared to guide you along the Basque Country and surroundings. I am a private local Basque guide and have a long experience guiding people along the Basque Country, over 15 years, in areas specially around San Sebastian, Bilbao, Pamplona, Vitoria as well as the French-Basque Country and the famous Rioja Wine region. As well as I travel abroad often, I love to work showing my city and surroundings, guiding people to the best places, not only to the touristic ones, but to the off-the-track ones too. Always adding some of my little stories and anecdotes of each place making the journey more enjoyable and unique. Living in a place with a food-culture like us, it adds an extra value to my tours, being a member of a Gastronomy Club(famous sociedad gastronómica) in San Sebastian as I am. After so many years of being a private tour guide in Bilbao, I know which ones are the best places to see, the icons on the Basque country coastline and the city. Departing from Bilbao pier: Tour to the Biscay coastline visiting charmy towns like Guernica, Bermeo, Mundaka & San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, the famous "Game of Thrones" site. This church on top of the rock, has much more to tell than the famous episode. Why? Come to learn all about it with a local guide. Finishing the day tour, the last but not the least, take "THE picture" that everyone looks for, the famous Guggenheim museum! Modernity contrasts here with all you have seeing during the day.
We had an amazing day with Iker! We hiked up San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, walked around Bermeo, had pintxos in Bilbao and saw the outside of the Guggenheim. It was a fun, adventurous, stress-free day and we had a wonderful time. Iker met us right at the cruise port and this was one of our favorite days on our cruise.
This tour was absolutely unforgettable. Every detail was thoughtfully planned, and the entire experience exceeded my expectations in every way. Iker was knowledgeable, passionate, and genuinely cared about making the experience special for each person in our group. Whether we were exploring hidden gems off the beaten path or enjoying the must-see sights, everything was seamless. He took us to an amazing local restaurant which was absolutely amazing. It was clear that a lot of effort went into curating a unique and authentic journey. I can’t recommend Iker enough. Our guide, Iker, took us on a coastal and countryside tour of part the Basque Country from Bilbao. He is an excellent guide, giving you the history and interesting facts of the area. He is very prompt and flexible, so, if there is something you want to particularly see and do, just let him know. I highly recommend him. You will not be disappointed.
This is the second time we've taken a TBL tour with Iker and todays was just as wonderful as the first time. We are a group of 8 and wanted to do different things, so he was very accommodating and dropped of a few and kept the rest of us busy while waiting for the others. I would highly recommend Iker to anyone looking for a great day!
Our tour with Aimee was wonderful. He picked us up at the pier. His explanation of the Guggenheim architecture was enlightening. He was concerned about our interests and needs. He selected a local restaurant which was excellent and economical. He is a member of the Basque community and helped us understand the people and culture of the area. We thoroughly enjoyed are tour and recommend Iker.
What a GREAT tour!!! Iker was fun, efficient, and very adaptable to our interests! We were treated to a wonderful 'panorama' of the Basque countryside and culture (including the food!). My wife and I both highly recommend our new friend Iker to anyone considering a booking in this region!
