Time and again, Bruges, a World Heritage City, captivates the hearts and minds of its visitors. Expressions of amazement and emotion at the sight of the romantic canals, ancient squares and countless art treasures and architecture. These Bruges walks will lead you past breathtaking spots, revealing our true and unique attractive characteristics. Bruges is grand but at the same time a destination on a human scale that is perfect for exploring on foot. Our wealth of cultural-historical monuments and museums goes hand in hand with a wonderful atmosphere and authentic charm. All my career, I have been working and travelling around the globe in business events and tourism. Now that I retired, I'm proud and happy to share the beauty of my hometown with visitors from far. I do not handle large groups, but have chosen for the intimate format of touring, on foot or by bicycle with just a few guests. My style is storytelling, and I want to hear your story too! During my tours, I try to avoid as much as possible the busy spots but will take you off the beaten path into the parts of Bruges many tourists have never seen. This is where and how we live. By the end of the tour, I always share my Google map with my guests; a map that includes personal favorites and hot spots.

We had a fantastic afternoon with Hugo! Kind, good humored, deeply knowledgeable and entertaining, he was an excellent host for our introduction to Bruges. We loved seeing the quieter parts of this magical place that only a local would include. He also gave us great recommendations for restaurants and places to visit. You can’t go wrong with Hugo!

Hello Susanne, thank you so much for your kind words. It was a pleasure for me too to tour my hometown with you guys! I've been off the grid for a couple of days with my moving house to the monastery, but now I'm settled and back on the grid ;-) May I wish you a happy and sunny summer! Kind regards, Hugo
Hugo is a great tour guide for Bruges. His English is perfect. He is friendly and will go out of his way to ensure you do and see what your request. In addition to the center of town, this tour took us out of the heavily trafficked tourist area for a more intimate view of Bruges where the locals live and hang out. We were fortunate to be in Bruges to see the city...

It was a pleasure showing you my hometown Kerry. Unfortunately in some of the worst weather conditions we experienced this year so far. Welcome back anytime or recommend me to you fellow passengers on the cruise!
Hugo did a great job showing us around Bruges. He met us at the train station and guided us thoughtfully around the city. Since Hugo grew up in Bruges, he knows a lot about the history. He showed us all of the top spots, but also a lot of interesting things that were off the beaten path, which most tourists never know about.

I was great meeting you and your friend (who taught me some more interesting facts about the College of Europe I did not know about). Come back any time and we'll share another 'Garre'! Thank you for the great review.
Having Hugo as my tour guide was like meeting an old friend & having him show me his beloved city. Hugo went out of his way to pick me up at the port. He explained things on our way into the city & later when we were saw the tall buildings, it really helped having seen them from a distance. A wonderful experience, from having him pick me up directly at the ship port ...
