I'm a University Gruaduate Tour Guide as well as National & Regional Tourism Technician fully Pfizer vaccinated against Covid-19. Ever since I was a child I always found myself continuously captivated by foreigners, be it by their languages or their cultures. Being part of a family of European immigrants and periodically exposed to different languages my entire life, this always proved to be second nature to me. In addition, I studied English for over a decade in one of the top schools in the country and to this day continue to use it on a daily basis. Thanks to this, I was able to obtain The University of Michigan's Certificate of Proficiency in English. As part of my Tourism education, I attended the United Nation's World Tourism Organization's First Seminar on the International Code for the Protection of Tourists and hold a Touristic Management certificate emitted by the Ministry of Commerce of China. I am proud to say I now have a decade of experience working in Tourism, during which I've had the privilege to provide services for worldwide organizations such as UNESCO, the UN Environment Programme, the Organization of American States & the Inter-Parliamentary Union. I've also provided tours to politicians such as South Carolina's Senate Minority Lead Brad Hutto and the Minister of Natural Resources of Guyana Vickram Bharrat. On a more personal note, being born and raised in Uruguay (the only place I ever lived in) I am wholeheartedly acquainted with its ins & outs, and feel genuine enthusiasm every time I get the opportunity to share these gems hiding in plain sight with others. I fully believe every person is unique and experiences this country in a different way, but my job is to guarantee this experience is remarkable for everyone. Even though there is a certain structure in the private tours I offer, these are always flexible to a degree, and able to be customized as to fulfill your unique expectations. A different proposal for those who want an alternative to the classical city tour: we'll cover the essential points but end with an escape to one of the best wineries in the country, for a guided visit and wine tasting. Starting in the original Montevideo area, we'll see the iconic port market which is a National Historical Monument that pre-dates the Eiffel Tower, and continue into the square named after the founder of the city, of whom it displays a monument. We'll also see a 300 year old square which was the heart of the city in the Colonial era. We'll reach modern day Montevideo getting to the Independence square, where you'll find where the President works and a mausoleum where the ashes of our National Hero are guarded. We'll wrap up the essentials seeing the only FIFA declared Monument of global football: the Centenary Stadium, that'll host the 1st match of 2030's World Cup. Then, we'll depart to a winery, where you will taste 4 different types of wine accompanied with delicious home-made empanadas!
We had a fabulous day with Gonzalo. He is passionate about his country and took us to interesting places in the city. Then in the afternoon he took us to Marachal, an award winning winery! It was fabulous! Lorena was a lovely hostess, the empanadas and wine were amazing. What a day!
Gonzalo is an excellent tour guide. We asked for a customized winery tour as our ship was not in port for long. He took us to an amazing local family winery and gave us some history and information about the area along the way. We had a private tour and tasting with amazing homemade empanadas. It was a very unique and memorable experience. I would highly recommend Gonzalo.

Gonzalo was everything we could have expected . He was able to tailor our tour to not only to see the best parts of his city, but also share a wonderful lunch at the amazing Bodega Angel Fallabrino winery. Gonzalo is an experienced tour guide with a lot of knowledge of his city and does it with passion. His greatest thrill is sharing his city.
This was a good tour, especially for a Sunday. Crowds were down, and Gonzalo was able to take us to a street fair, which was not previously planned. The visit to the winery was a highlight and a delight to meet with the oenologist and taste her wine.
I did not know what to expect from a tour of Montevideo, honestly did not know much about the country. Mara had enthusiasm and in-depth knowledge that made the tour memorable. Our Winery tour was outstanding, with the winemaker showing us the vineyard and hosting the tasting. Very memorable and something I can strongly recommend
·We'll start by visiting the Port Market, a building made with irons brought from Liverpool, after which we'll head to the Zabala Square, where I'll unveil the true meaning of our city's name. ·Next we'll reach a 300 year old square where our first ever Constitution was signed, and see the stunning Metropolitan Cathedral, our country's main catholic temple. ·After seeing the striking National Post Office Tower (another National Historical Monument) we'll reach the Independence Square in front of a architectural masterpiece: Salvo Palace. ·Next, we'll drive past our mesmerizing Congress before entering into Batlle Park with the Biennale-awarded Carriage monument and the Stadium where the 1st FIFA World Cup was played. ·At last, we'll depart to the winery. Along our way, I'll share the fascinating story of the origin of our flagship grape, Tannat and tell you interesting facts about Uruguay's involvement in the wine industry. ·Once in the winery, we'll visit its premises before the tasting, to then return.
