Hello from Boston, I arrived here from Ireland over 30 years ago, and as soon as I got off the plane I knew I was here to stay. I'm a huge history buff, and love to hear and read about people. I'm lucky, I have a great memory for details, names and dates, and with a touch of the "blarney" am able to tell a good story. Content is key to being a private tour guide, and I've built up a wide range of stories. I have deep knowledge of Revolutionary War, and military history, but I know that's not for everybody and can go into as much or little detail as needed. There's so much more to the Boston area than history. . . . . architecture, ghost stories, Irish migration, movies scenes, sports and colleges to name a few and so over the years I just keep adding stories and fun facts to my content. Part of what brought me to Boston was to play music, so when I'm not playing, I'm probably out listening to music or having dinner and drinks somewhere in the city. This lets me keep current with what's happening around Boston and I've loads of recommendations to pass on of places to check out. Being a private tour guide is my ideal job, I love being around and talking to people, telling and listening to stories and having some laughs. I've a glass half full outlook on life and a good humored, easy going personality. I'm an approved and licensed city tour guide, do walking tours of the Freedom Trail in Boston and driving tours around the Greater Boston area. Please send me a message if you'd like help putting a tour together, I've done a lot of private customized tours and have lots of off the beaten path ideas. Look forward to touring with you. All the best Martin Fully licensed driving tour guide. Approved to conduct driving tours by Boston Transportation Dept & Boston Police Dept. Driving a livery insured vehicle. Also licensed to conduct walking tours. none

Whether you've always been a fan of this American classic, or just recently got into it, this half day private driving tour covers the sites and scenes in Boston & Concord connected to the Alcott family, the original book or recent movie. We start in Boston, which became a hub for famous American authors in the 1800s. We'll pass a few sites that'll look familiar if you've seen the recent movie and then head out of the city to the Alcott family's beloved town of Concord. Their family home really gives a sense into their lives and, subject to availability at the house, you'll join a tour conducted by one of the Orchard house guides. Finishing up the visit with time to browse the book shop and take some pictures. Options are then to visit the resting place of the Alcott family or stroll the quintessential all American, main street of Concord. Final stop (weather permitting) is Walden Pond, then along a scenic country road part of the way back to Boston.
There's various options for this tour, and I like to keep it fluid to give you time at the places most meaningful to you. You'll be choosing from: - Drive by of the Boston home of Louisa May Alcott - Drive by of the Boston movie scenes - we'll pass MIT & Harvard - quick photo stop at the home of Henry Longfellow - pass Lexington Green, can't resist sharing the story of how the battle started - drive down Battle Rd to Concord - tour of the Orchard House & book shop* - leisurely drive through Sleepy Hollow cemetery - stroll Concord Main St - photo stop at Walden Pond Concord is 20 miles from Boston, not far, but Boston traffic can be unpredictable. Please expect 90+ minutes of this tour to be travel time. I pick up and drop off at any hotel or accommodation in downtown Boston, at the cruise terminal or we can arrange a convenient meeting spot.
